Congratulations everyone!! TV Mobile (that scum) is dead and gone!

to Cynthia: you do have a point, there are many other factors.

But noise pollution CAN drive you mad. I live in a place where there's a construction site right next door. Some housing estate development that the Far East crooks are constructing.

The noise is non stop. Imagine waking up to KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK everyday. Gone are the peaceful days of being at home. I've tried ear plugs but it's so loud that ear plugs don't help much.

I'm going mad really.

Dear Sir/madam, with regardas to your stand that noise pollution seems to be responsible for the fact that Singaporeans are ranked 131st in the Happiness Index worldwide. But should we not consider the fact that there are also other significant factors like increased workload, increased competition and higher living costs?

It is currently midnight on Monday and I am sat watching concrete lorries turn up at the construction site opposite. I would go to bed but there seems very little point as it is far to loud and I am losing to the will to live.

If Singapore wants to increase BIRTH RATE, or at the least PREVENT PROPERTY MARKET VOLATILITY, the first thing they have to do, is to REDUCE NOISE POLLUTION.

All EXPAT ENCLAVES have been turned into NOISE HELL ENCLAVES. Thanks to DEVELOPMENT GREED and RAMPANT CONSTRUCTION. Good units in prime areas are being dumped. People keep looking around for quieter units, yet being trapped few months down the line by yet ANOTHER HOT NEW CONSTRUCTION! This madness creates AN ARTIFICIAL DEMAND for high end properties in the last two years. But IT WILL NOT LAST. Soon REALITY WILL CATCH UP WITH INHUMAN PUBLIC POLICIES.

Singapore boasts itself as a"GARDEN CITY". Visually, yes, Singapore is green. But do you want to among greenness and posh furnishing - yet tormented by NEXT DOOR PILING POUNDING JACKHAMMERING 24/7 365?

NO. People may tolerate for a while, but if the wife continues to miscarry or not conceive, if Saturday Sunday restfulness get robbed by NOISE MONSTERS NEXT DOOR, people cannot risk GOING CRAZY. They will leave. Break lease, dump their unrentable, UNLIVABLE HELL - IN "PRIME" AREAS!!!

Prime areas primed for? MORE EXPLOITATION! Followed by DESTRUCTION! Of the silenced citizens's basic right to AURAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL HEALTH.

It is absurb, living in million dollar condos, yet YOU CAN'T WAKE UP TO A PIECEFUL SUNDAY MORNING. NOT EVEN ONE DAY IN A WEEK.

Development has to go on. Yes. Singapore NEEDS high turnover activities to keep things going. BUT IT DOES NOT HAVE TO COME WITH SUCH HIGH PRICE TO THE CITIZENS.

There has to be a BALANCE. THERE ARE THESE HUMAN BEINGS CALLED CITIZENS, who needs to LIVE.

To LIVE 5 days in hell, and 2 days in normalcy, is not too much to ask of a supposedly enlightened city nation administration????

UNLESS THE ONE-TRACK-MIND URA AND THAT USELESS NATIONAL ENVIRONMENT AGENCY DO SOMETHING MEANINGFUL, instead of their current PATHETIC NOISE METER MANUEVER NONSENSE, UNLESS THE CITY PLANNERS ENACT RESTRICTIVE HOURS AND BAN WEEKENDS FROM CONSTRUCTION, SINGAPORE = NOISE HELL GARDEN CITY.

An Expat with Family and Friends who LEFT for QUIETER pastures.

Forget about going after tvMobile. Here is the reason offered by LSS.

"<i>Currently…. 5 million of the total 7 million (trips on public transport) made every day, comprising 3 million on buses, 1 million on the mass rapid transit trains and another 1 million in taxis.</i>"

Now, we all know why tvMobile was introduced in the first place. It is targeted at people like you and I, who do not read the Shitty Times, nor listen to MSM radio and neither do some of us even watch our MSM tv news.

With tvMobile, there is nowhere for us to hide. We cannot escape the brainwashing materials that comes out from these channels.

Look at the effectiveness of such a device. 5 million trips in just one day. It means 5 million opportunities to brainwash you. If the news is important enough to them, they can continue to report it according to the number of days they decide to do so.

Imagine having tvMobile telling you that the old Ong guy is insane and mad, for performing his thinner and fire trick, and; telling it 5 million times in a day, 10 million times in 2 days, and; 15 million times in 3 days? Won't you be taken in?

tvMobile is here to stay, my friend, and with as loud a noise as it possibility can, just in case you might be sleeping or in dreamland.

Hi, I am strongly against noise pollution in Singapore, especially from construction sites. In fact, I have a video recording of a construction site causing extreme noise pollution which I want to make know to the relevant parties and authorities that should look into this. It is not about the fact the construction is necessarily noisy, but about construction processes that produces extreme noise and which can be avoided.
