I would like to reply to “Eat Money”. how does he/she knows that when the opposition wins, their family members or friends will not be in Temasek or the like. The fact that CSJ’s sister is with him as an opposition leader will point to one day when he is elected and became PM and you expect her sister to sit back and take care of his luggage only? Let us face it – power comes with power, George Bush Jnr became President of the United States owed much to his father, the Bush Snr. So is Mrs Clinton. As the wife of the ex-President Clinton, she levies on this advantage to become Senator then stand for election as President, lose out but still ends as Secretary of State. Of course, this does not mean she is not capable but surely being closely link helps and that is the situation everywhere. Whoever comes into power will consciously or unsciously be appointing somebody whom they trust and think is the most suitable. I dont think any opposition member in their true conscience would say they will not appoint anybody close to them….

Absolutely valid question !
Examples of policies that will be superior to the PAP :
a) You will not see CSJ being the PM and appointing his sister CSC as CEO of Temasek, OR appointing his father/mother /uncle/aunty etc as some kind of minister mentoring him, Or JBJ as PM and apponting his son as Law minister or Chief Justice or whatever JBJ fancies, same for LTK or Sylvia Lim appointing their spouse/boyfriend to a position that suggest conflict of interest.
b) If the country’s reserves are truly more than 300 billion, the money to help the poor and needy will definitely be better than 360 bucks a month.
c) those collecting cans, cardboxes, etc will be housed in the Istana with president Nathan so that he can learn to care for them and redeem himself. LOL

hi, many singaporeans and members if the opposition (like many other singaporeans) have a natural talent in critisising the PAP. Making criticisms is easy to do, but what about giving suggestions? If the members of the opposition hope to win the majority one day, HOW will they run the country, to ensure and maintain social stability and economic prosperity??? Are you able to propose and implement any policies that will triumph those of the PAP’s? Cos if not, then Singaporeans won’t have any confidence in voting you in.

Since you will have watch the video on Said Zahari, you will probably realize that LKY love the the ass of Britain ppl and satisfy their demand too, because of been AngMoh. What more, LKY graduated from elite AngMoh Cambridge School, and Australia National University give him degree and Australian is AngMoh too. That’s why LKY love AngMoh.

Singaporean can’t give him anything at all because he say we immature and probably cannot give the thing AngMoh can.

What can I say. I be one of those planning to migrate before the next election as soon as I clear the big fat debt of a typical Singaporean.

According to “an MFA spokesman” the European Parliament members were “free to express their views in the European Parliament or post them on the Internet. But they should not come to Singapore to participate in a domsetic political event.” ST Sat H6.

I post my views on the Internet (on a USA host). I said nothing at the meeting. I did not come to Singapore to participate in this event anyway, I came for work 3 years ago and am just intriguied to watch the Governemnt squirm in it’s current self-inflicted awkward position on GST and pay!

And I did not think of as a domestic political event – it was advertised as a meeting to two international organisations, CALD and ALDE! – but ended up looking like as a ‘domestic’ event of the SPD as only they were permitted to speak! I cam expecting to hear something of
international democracy and liberalism.

As far as the FMA quote in ST about Singaporeans making the political decision for Singapore, well that’s just laughable… The ability of Singaporean (not the Europeans, they weren’t deciding anything) to make any better informed “decisions” based on potentially useful information from the Europeans was restricted by this gag. cf K. Popper and Closed Societies.
