Democracy will not help Myanmar. It will just be like Iraq now, groups fighting for autonomy or independence.

China and India plus ASEAN should pressure the junta to have civilian leaders. Then they can handover power like in Indonesia.

The first thing they can do is appoint a president without political power. His main duty is to meditate and eat vegetarian food.

Free Burma!
International Bloggers' Day for Burma on the 4th of October

International bloggers are preparing an action to support the peaceful revolution in Burma. We want to set a sign for freedom and show our sympathy for these people who are fighting their cruel regime without weapons. These Bloggers are planning to refrain from posting to their blogs on October 4 and just put up one Banner then, underlined with the words „Free Burma!“.

RH:
1. Between January 3 and April 12, 2003, 36 million people across the globe took part in almost 3,000 protests against the Iraq war. This looks set to be another record in the global mobilisation of public opinion. IT MAY BRING DOWN THE BURMA GOVT AND SHAME OR DISENFRANCHISE ITS FELLOW REPRESSIVE REGIMES LIKE SINGAPORE's LIE KY REGIME, THE STAUNCHEST SUPPORTER OF THE BURMA JUNTA, and its biggest supplier of weapons that are killing monks today. Not to mention a supplier of technology to identify Burma bloggers and internet users who post against the junta. All to be able to continue the furtive, cosy businesses of laundering Burma's drug monies, facilitating its drug smuggling, and co-investing in the junta's many illicit businesses.

2. After the biggest series of anti-IraqInvasion demonstrations, on February 15, 2003, New York Times writer Patrick Tyler wrote that they showed that there were two superpowers on the planet, the United States and worldwide public opinion. This time, Burma cannot shoot its way out.

3. I think we can do it. If we succeed in Internetting and Blogging the issue, the global mainstream media cannot but publish it all, because it in itself, is a seminal event in the rapidly developing world of Online Mobilisation. We Bloggers can change govts, not only the Burmese Junta, but also our own Junta of LIE KY.

4. The world is watching. And mobilising. History is being made and we are on the Right Side of It.
