As a man, I have to say, if I stray, the reason will not be a PRC mei mei, it wil be
that I care more about satiating selfish lust then my own family. The blame rest squarely on own shoulders. It's convenient to make excuses and to point fingers.
Something we and our own politicians are very apt to do.

bringing in dragon lady to Singapore puts our family at risk, from the papers over the past years, (and those not in the papers - maybe should conduct a survey to show the actual percentage); we are able to see that many broken up family are involving the dragon lady.

When bringing in "new-comers" how to help to reduce the risk on the Singapore woman (when most of the time spent are on their work and children)

I recalled during the 70s' we turned away the boatpeople from Vietnam like crazy. It meant something to be a Singaporean and we guarded it like crazy. Now we still have MM Lee and Goh Chok Tong in Parliament, and we are giving away PRs and citizenship like a dime a dozen - all because our Minister's salary is pegged to our GDP. And our reasons is because Singaporeans refuse to do the work - but we all know the employers are doing the cheap and easy thing like bringing in students on short work stints - how can Singaporeans compete with them??

How Middle Age Singaporean are sidelined
(1) Service and Hospitality Industry
Chambermaids in hotels are got rid off. Restaff with trainees from third world countries such as China. Being deemed
trainees they are not unionised and the employers get around to avoid paying foreign workers leviews. Wages are way below sustenance for most Singapore workers however it a windfall for the foreign trainees
(2) Banks are being staffed by more Indian talents
It helps to keep wages down
(3) Even the licensed prostitutes are feeling the competition
because of Singapore Open door policy the budget airlines
The foreign girls would sell their services cheaper as they do not have overheads That is globalisation for u.
(4) IT TIME WE OUTSOURCED THE FAT CATS WHO ARE EARNING MILLION DOLLARS SALARIES AND FEEDING THEIR FAT FACES WITH NOT IDEAS OF THEIR OWN. ITS SINGAPORE DOWNFALL IF WE KEEP THEM. IN TIMES OF GLOBALISATION THE JOB SHOULD GO TO THE MOST ABLE.

"Singapore is still dependent on immigrant/foreign labor"
This is globalization.
Professional nurses are in demand everywhere. The country that pays more will have the most attraction.
The other question to bear in mind....is the public policy biased towards the foreigners, and neglecting the core and basis of nationality?

I am a Singaporean, and came to US working as a nurse.
S$1k/mth is little. One can earn much more here, comparable to another profession domininated by males, such as engineering, in US.
