RH:
1. Singapore is just a Hotel, with employees, guests and physical assets. The CEO management has no real interest in employees, guests and assets except in keeping it all functioning smoothly to make the most profits out of it all so that they can justify their pays and bigger pay hikes.

2. Thus, as in a Hotel, citizens, PRs, temporary workers, etc, are all irrelevant as distinctions in themselves and their only value is in how much they add to the bottomline and the emoluments of the CEO and BOD.

3. The CEOs find this Hotel perspective clarifies their minds wonderfully. Just focus on the bottomline [GDP] and massage it to as high a number as can be without inviting too much scepticism or disbelief. Keep it higher than the other Sinic-cultural countries if possible so that it would seem to be the 'achievement' of LKY LHL Cronies rather than a simple set of Sinic-cultural values and attitudes evolved over 5,000 years that are the Real Reasons for the success of the Sinic-cultural countries; since none of them have a LKY as ruler and are doing incredibly well and better than Singapore.

Some years back, someone wrote to ST to ask what criteria Immigration used when it awarded citizenship to two PRC construction workers who had a pay dispute with their ex-employer. Immigration gave some lame 'they met the criteria' non-reply. How come they can't be honest and say their ethnicity was a big factor.
