There is no need to watch the video.

I have neatly summarized the entire COI report in one graphic.

    At last, the 1948 Show!

    With LKY, who needs COI?

    I’m wiser now at http://feedmetothefish.blogspot.com/

Is it going to get better with PM taking centre stage tomorrow?

Not another, “What to do, it’s happened” I hope :)

    WKS:
While he acknowledged complacency in the operations of the detention centre, Mr Wong dismissed suggestions that his ministry had been complacent in supervising its departments.

He said: “Within individual units, there could be some slackening in some ways. I can’t guarantee that would not happen because in any human organisation, there would be human weaknesses displayed and unfortunately, things do happen that we don’t want to see.”

Pfftt. That’s why we are paying you top dollar to ensure the workings of your ministry. If human errors happen, heads roll. Anyway, blaming on human error is really a weak excuse/reason. If you expect top dollar, expect to handle top dollar responsibilities and ownership.

“Within individual units, there could be some slackening in some ways. because the leaders of those units are slacking. These leaders are slacking because the leaders leading them are slacking. The ultimately, it is the top leader that is slacking results in the slacking down the chain of command.

“I can’t guarantee that would not happen”, then we should find someone who can.

WKS has taken the easy way out to lay the blame squarely on the GC guards. Something is just missing in the whole report.

    1) No mention was made of how the design of the detention centre was commissioned. Whoever was in charge must either be amateurs in security planning or experts in the design of escape routes for potential escapists.

    2) The ledge in the urinal cabinet & the top hung window which can open out are so inviting for any potential escapist.

    2) Why do we need the window to be top hung when there is already an adjacent exhaust fan for ventilation purpose ?

    3) Why do we have a door for the urinal cubicle for privacy when it is afterall meant to be shared by 2 urinals ?

    4) Why do they need to have CCTVs installed if they are not meant to be commissioned ? Nobody has provide any information as to when the CCTVs were meant to be commissioned.

    5) Doesn’t it occur to any of the 3 guards that a men’s piss at the urinal should not have taken more than a minute of waiting ?

    6) And definitely wasn’t it strange that a man would need to remove the trousers in order to piss at the urinal ?

And it was even stranger for WKS to answer “The guard might have thought that for whatever reason, Mas Selamat needed to take off his pants while at the urinal”. My further question for WKS is : How can you even know what the guard MIGHT have thought ?

Is this the type of world class talents that we have which our leaders are constantly boasting to the whole world ?

One thing I can confirm. The skin of WKS is very thick, probably the “thickest” in Singapore. Not even a hint of volunteering to take a paycut, let alone resign as minister.

I am impressed, very impressed indeed by DPM WONG KAN SENG!
Human weaknesses have caused events to happen, my god, and we all should know humans are prone to weaknesses and therefore things happened! So blame everybodys’ weakness not the person and people.

Yes, we all know corruption, abuse of power and impropriety are inherent human weaknesses, so blames should go to human nature not the man.

I wonder whether there is any significance to the recommendation for ISD to take over the detention centre. Hmmmmmmmm.

and please. i wish our “leaders” will answer questions properly for ONCE.

We are now more interested to hear how himself can manage a great escape of accountability and responsibility than Selamat’s escape. He make a bigger blunder more serious than Selamat.

And really, his traits of leadership are similar to PM Lee. That is irresponsibility, incompetence, ineptness, devoid of respect and credibility. No wonder both are protecting each other because both have the words Prime Minister in their title , one genuine clown and another Deputy clown.
