<i>"Imagine if we all left tomorrow: the arts scene, the design industry, the advertising companies, and a good lot of our sports teams – they’d break down. Bye-bye, Singapore the creative hub; hello, Singapore the dullest city in Southeast Asia."</i>

Oh come on! This is as convincing a hyperbole as the PAP's argument that if we allow a free press, race riots will break out and Singapore will be destroyed.

brother, you should give your feedback and questions on the Singapore Police Force (SPF) services to the following:

http://www.spf.gov.sg/feedback.htm

As far as my understanding of the SPF spot checks on entertainment outlets go, the policemen and policewomen meant exactly that when they replied that they are conducting spot checks. The spot checks are regular routine. The spot checks are not raids. Under Singapore laws, the Singapore Police Force are empowered to conduct such spot checks on entertainment outlets, to ensure compliance with Singapore laws.

There is no homophobia, no entrapment, no witchhunt, no persecution, no backlash, no harressment & no malice as far as the SPF operations are concern, which are carried out in accordance with their standing orders & Singapore laws. Therefore, do not be unneccesarily alarmed.

I am not from SPF. I am contributing the above comments to help allay unneccesary fears among gay readers.

Psst...Thio got her degrees from Cambridge, Harvard and Oxford, and got instilled with ideas from "the wild wild west" (her words, not mine) and specialises in "International Human Rights Law (especially the rights of minorities and peoples); Human Rights in Asia" hahaha.

Seriously, more can said about the MPs who thumped their chairs (as a show of approval) to her speech than her speech itself. If that's the pool of people our future ministers are going to be picked out from, let's all just run now.

Singapore must be a wonderful country where we have laws that protect nobody and offend everybody. I mean, look at the issue of 377A. What did that issue demonstrate? The fact that our Prime Minister had no strength of his convictions and sacrificed the rule of law for political expediency with his "Legal Ambiguity" is best.

Well if the PM was good, I think Dr Thio Lee-Ann proved to be even better. With her skills at debating, Singapore should become the most eloquent city in the world. Seriously, it says allot more about the institution that gave her the law degree than it does about her. If memory serves me correctly, her argument against 377A ran something like this - I find gay sex disgusting so I'm not going to let you do it even if I don't see or hear you do it. - Now, when you put it like this, you can see that Singapore's regard for law isn't actually very great.

So, there you have it. You cannot be gay in Singapore because one little girl does not like the fact that someone else may have the courage of their own convictions to admit to their own sexuality.

Some people are borned blind.
Some people are borned mute.
Some people are borned deaf.
Some people are borned with blood disorder.
Some people are borned with no legs, no arms, etc.
Some people are borned with down syndrome.
Well, you can simply google or youtube human abnormalities and there are plenty of them.

The question now is why can’t there be a possibility that some people are borned with a genetic mix-up in their gender vis-a-vis their bodies.

Wolf cry? I see it as the government is cleaning up sex vice areas, the way it cleans up red light district areas.

Gays should not imagine that the big bad wolf is behind every corner. It is called normalphobia - fear of normal things that happen around them.

Here is my stance on the gay issue.
<a href="http://wherebearsroamfree.blogspot.com/2008/05/lets-all-face-issues-of-gay-sex-once.html" rel="nofollow">
Let’s all face the issues of gay sex once and for all</a>
