The Singapore Democratic Party’s secretary general Dr Chee Soon Juan was released from the Queenstown Remand Prison on 14 June 2008. He was incarcerated for 12 days after the courts found him guilty on a contempt of court charge.

Two days earlier, his sister Chee Siok Chin, was released after spending 10 days in jail on the same charge.

Below is a video of Dr Chee being released and a short interview with him.

  3. Dr. Chee, It says a lot about a person who dares to question the ‘emperor’ and it also says a lot about a person who agrees with everything about the ‘emperor’.

I got to say Dr. Chee has brought about public awareness and understanding to the many, and I disagree with the few that say his a trouble maker.

Why would a man piss away his job and salary to go to jail time and again ?

    Balls of steel Dr.Chee!

  9. Actions speak louder than words. Selflessness can be felt. Respect must be earned. Courage cannot be bought. Life is all that matter ….

SDP should apply for a permit to speak at Speakers Corner soon. The Internet community will spread the news of the event. The turnout will be a good estimate of the level of resentment that Singaporeans have for PAP’s policies.

SDP must persevere and sensible Singaporeans must reciprocate with unwavering support.

    The only option is FORWARD!

A obedient and play by rule person will never achieve greatness and will be forgotten in history to come but who the one who screw the rule and perceive as trouble maker by the status quo to create the change necessary will be remembered forever.

Such as being extremely egoistic, having difficulty telling the truth, living in self denial, lacking in conscience, exhibiting insatiable greed and lust for absolute power.
