Singapore does not need coups, demonstrations in the streets, people power, plots and conspiracies, wild allegations and uncalled for defamatory remarks to make our politics exciting.

Singapore then need the host of people from TOC, Mr Brown, Catherine Lim, etc,,,,,to make life interestingly meaningful for high salaried President, Ministers, Civil Servants, ,,,,
Thank you all for being around.
Singapore does not need SM, MM all this cowdung post .This only shows the PM is useless, not capable, he needs the advise of MM, SM. Wasted tax payers money. In other countries, you don’t find this MM, SM post. It is a redundant post. What can they do , collect money only!!!
Actually, I very much agree with him. Indeed, there’s no point in having such political manoeuvrings and democratic devices for the sake of excitement and drama.
However, I think he’s counting on many to make a logical fallacy and claim that we do not need these activities. Putting it another way,
Singapore does not need coups, demonstrations in the streets, people power, plots and conspiracies, wild allegations and uncalled for defamatory remarks to make our politics exciting. Singapore needs them not for excitement but as a healthy democracy
Like in all bureaucratic agencies, redundancies are a norm. How else do they proved their worth? In our case, it is just excessively absurd. The comments given by the SM just prove the points that the excessively paid “TOP, Crème de’la Cream” leaders cannot handle adverse situations.
Other city state such as Hong Kong, The citizen of Hong Kong can’t even vote for their representing governor, but, who advocates freedom of expressions allow their citizenry to voice their concerns, through peaceful street demonstration and taking it in stride. Singapore does not need People Power? What were the calling messages again in the early days of PAP? How conveniently it got forgotten. Plots and Conspiracies? Who’s plotting? Who’s conspiring? “腹心自问吧“。Defamatory remarks? “问心无愧,清者之自清, 真金又何惧烈火?”。人民的眼睛是雪亮的。
SM Goh’s words betray how smug he thinks things are with Singapore. Don’t rock the boat and everything will be fine. But Singapore is very much the worst because of his brilliant ideas about GRCs and what’s not. If one day, by chance, all the top guns died in a freak accident, then who is to hold the fort? There will be no credible opposition leaders to take over, no thanks to the PAP’s and SM’s Goh’s tactical move to keep the opposition to a minimum, so that they are just like some nuisance mosquitoes. The recent spat of lousy handling of many issues show how inept the PAP govt has become. So, SM Goh, don’t be so smug. The excitement may be ahead and when it comes, I don’t think you or the PAP will have the guts to stomach it.
Mr. Goh ,
What we don’t need is a spineless PM. A strong and capable PM will make your job redundant, also the MM.
What we don’t need is a lopsided representation of 82 PAP MPs in parliament.
What we don’t need is the absence of check and balance + accountability.
What we don’t need is poor selection of blokes like WKS in the cabinet.
What we don’t need is an unelected President of Singapore.
What we don’t need is a President who is cluless on the country’s reserves.
What we don’t need is conflict of interest concerning important appointments. [ I don't think you need help to figure this one.]
What we don’t need is the gross overkill to stifle political participation.
What we don’t need is a economic system that leaves so many citizens behind.
What we don’t need is a public transportation system that is skewed to profits.
What we don’t need is a system that puts pressure on raising a family.
What we don’t need is this govt’s attitude towards an objective report by IBA.
What we don’t need is this govt trying to be too smart with our neighbours.
What we don’t need is a govt that has no idea about introspection.
What we don’t need is this govt relentlessly telling us what we don’t need.
