TOC understands that in Prime Minister’s National Day Rally speech, he is to announce the following:

- Political films regulation will be relaxed to allow factual and documentary portrayal of political events, but will still exclude ‘slanted’ political films.

- During election year, restrictions on internet media will be relaxed, including allowing podcasts.

- Public demonstrations will be allowed at Speaker’s Corner.

We will await the actual speech to comment.

“Political films regulation will be relaxed to allow factual and documentary portrayal of political events, but will still exclude ‘slanted’ political films.”

Who decides whats “factual and documentary portrayal of political events” and whats “slanted’ political films”?

I’ll wait and see, but the cynic in me thinks it will be a case of “the more things change, the more they stay the same”

To increase the birth rate , marrying young or match making is not the answer.
Really back to old days, legalise polyagamy. This will cause instant population explosion of the yester years if all parties( current wifes included just say yes
I know I am touching on some nerves. but before you hurl mud or praises at me, look at this from the long term economic perspective. We can’t rely on foreign talents forever. With this strategy, in the short term, we can have foreign talents(wifes) and revitalize and perk up the procreativeness of our own talents.
All the best to Singapore.

Legalizing polygamy will benefit the wealthy and the good looking blokes.
I think a better idea is to be more liberal with the intake of foreign female students into the country. The education system should revamp all secondary schools to co-ed status and introduce mandatory CCA for both sexes.
Just be prepared for the backlash from the women. lol.

yeap yeap…. anything produced by PAP – factual and objective
Anything produced by anyone else – slanted, partisan and “out to destroy Singapore”

There see.. wasn’t so difficult to predict how the line will be drawn….
#2 is right… more they change… the more they stay the same

some more point to add.
podcast and internet during election year… this is really a non-point as this is not really enforceable in the first place without the pap govt coming out looking like the Iranian theocracy….

“asking singaporeans to marry early”
Marry early so to buy expensive flats to generate income , and become indirect subversient servant of kangaroo party, one that says “What to do ? No choices, have family and house already, cannot protest against gov anymore. Have job to keep”

Marry early to produce children so to make up for future shortage as NS slaves, economical slaves.

don’t dream…the PAP will never relax their grip on protests and free speech. The formation of bigger and bigger GRC, as well as, the redrawing of electoral boundary are ample proof. The PAP is very afraid of letting people know the truth.
