But I also assure you that how the officers responsible will be taken to task will always be fair and just. Commanders will ultimately be liable and assessed on the quality of their leadership as reflected in the performance of their officers, as well as the manner in which they address problems and adversity.

To me, it sounds like Mr Wong is talking about and describing HIMSELF.
Wong Kan Seng also said these (thanks to Lucky Tan):
“To decide whether this was an innocent mistake, Singaporeans must know the answers to these questions. In the interests of transparency and accountability that Mr Low upholds, he must share with Singaporeans the answers that he received from Mr Gomez”
- Wong Kan Seng, May 2006
(but he no nid share wif us full report of his in”DEPENDENT” committee
“This would have undermined public confidence in the integrity of our elections system and done serious damage to the reputation of Singapore”
- Wong Kan Seng on 2 May 2006
(but his letting a known terrorist who allegedly has spoken to Osama hisself LIMP OUT of a top security facility is apparently not serious damage to the reputation of Singapore)
“Low cannot brush aside this episode and say just move on. This is a serious matter. It cannot rest here”
- Wong Kan Seng 2nd May 2006.
(yeah! only WONG can tell people to MOVE ON!)
Incidents that happend in the various depts under Home Affairs Ministry during WKS tenure:
1. Escape of Took Leng How (CID & ICA)
2. Escape of Mas Selamat (ISD)
3. Death of Indian prison inmate (Prison’s Dept)
4. Immigration misclearance of Singaporean -Manage to end up in Vietnam with son’s passport before being deported (ICA)
What a wonderful job it is to be sitting in an ivory tower without being accountable for all these lapses!
I just give instruction to one of my managers to terminate a supervisor who has persistently lost control of the front line workers (at least 5 occasions) and did not have the ownership and sense of responsibility that is expected of him. The quality consciousness and standards were not measureable with that of the organisation.
I suggest we read the latest book “Speed of Trust” by Stephen Covey. We are and will be paying taxes for such lack of sense of responsiblity and ownership.
that is all about politics when u are in power u can say anything.even uphold integrity when obviously not.
In Hokkien – “Chui Kong, Lampar Song!”
In English – “Mouth speaks, balls feel good!”
Tharman came up with same same in new ST on inflation today. Just say what you say when the occasion calls for it. Integrity doesn’t mean squat to these honourable mintsters.
Once you sell your soul & hit the right connection, you’ll make it for life! How you talk cock or singsong doesn’t matter, as long as you help keep the skeletons in the cupboard!
What else is new?
Happy Singasucker Day or is it PAPDay?
