FERRARI president Luca di Montezemolo has called last Sunday's inaugural Singapore Grand Prix a "humiliation" for the sport, claiming the track used for formula one's first night race would be "more suitable for staging a circus".

Sour grapes?

Meanwhile, the F1 organizer claimed he likes Singapore noodle (which is only available in European Chinese eateries and not in Singapore) and call the Singapore F1 "the jewel in the crown of F1".

No guessing what our expensive publicity thrills have gone into. Feeding a pseudo-Empire.

imho, the F1 in Singapore is all about money, rather than the sport. Sit back and think - who gets the opportunity to make loads of money from this, and who gets screwed.

Ong Beng Seng's company has the rights to the F1 franchise. He's also the leading hotelier. Mediacorp has the TV rights. was there an open tender for the company who can pitch for the F1? i dont think so. how about the rights to the F1 Singapore apparel franchise...? who sells the tickets?

who gets screwed - all those small time retailers who'll be affected by the closed roads and blocked off areas. think about the businesses in CBD affected...are the tickets cheap and easily available to singaporeans themselves?

from an F1 sporting perspective, i think the Ferrari president is right. in the end, only a few stand to gain from the F1 monetarily...and we know who they are.

"Without over-taking, the race would be boring and somewhat meaningless too."

"Uniquely Singapore" makes for a "Uniquely Race"

Still wonder why he says overtaking is impossible. I have perused the circuit vicinity and the road is good enough for overtaking though it will be difficult in night time. It may take them sometimes to accustom to the environment but then it look possible.

Is Ferrari President making a exaggeration ? Is he expecting the same wide road as in race circuit ?

"Going forward with these circuits heralds a bad future for Formula One."

Ferrari President saying that ? Is this another conspiracy to do us in again ?
