You ask me, I ask who?
Well, it must be a “cool” place for Singaporeans themselves too. If we package ourselves to be “cool” to foreigners and foreign talent only, that would be a very sad scenario.
The government has made much about its bid to make Singapore a “global”, “cool”, and “funky” city. I feel whatever the direction the government takes, its underlying intent must be to better the lives of Singaporeans, especially those who are not so well-positioned to handle globalization.
If the masses remain oppressed with callous power and public transport companies, and a frustrating CPF system, then all calls to be “cool” will ring hollow. No point trying to please the world at the expense of the people.
hurray! ……………… SG is going to be cool and funky! …………. hurray!…………. huh?………..say what? …………… only for those above 62 years old? …………..wh….?……….with primary school education? …………………. no kangaroo tee shirts allowed? ……… and i thought they were serious……….
