I am very impressed with the students for going the extra mile by planning and organising this activity. Congratulations for your entrepreneurship and here’s looking to a fun-filled day ahead!

Nevertheless, I’d like to point something that may have been missed in the process of thinking up this activity.

The students have noted that “our rapid city lifestyle has decreased the amount of personal time and we are constantly drowning in the work we need to do -work that spills over office hours into our own personal life- causing us to lose precious time with those that really matter”.

It seems that the root problem is actually that of us Singaporeans being unable to spend enough time with our loved ones, a possible spillover effect from the current economic policies put in place by the government.

I suggest that Singaporeans might want to consider targeting the root problem instead by first campaigning for shorter working hours so as to increase the quantity of time we get to spend with our loved ones.

This will then free our schedules up so that we can then concentrate on spending quality time with our loved ones, as this activity aims to do.
