Slump in consumer confidence is already present in Singapore. Next thing we should find out if slump in consumer confidence has occured in other Asian economies to determine the likelihood of a non-OECD recession.

sometimes we also cannot blames the shops because the landlords are charging very high rents.

in order to reduce the price of goods, landlords like capitaland and f and n should lower down rental in recession first.

then shops can also lower down their selling price as well.

then consumers may benefit.

but capitaland and f and n seem to be link to the government also.

so overall the government should be the first to do something.

help the people if not do not expect people to vote for you in the next election.

do not use grc to win election. fight one to one with the opposition so that people can make a real decision.

Recession should be time to 'allow' businesses which overcharged consumers to accept lower profit and smaller diamonds and bungalows to attract back the crowd.

Its an opportunity to lower the cost of living and bring back some justice to the consumers.

just me 1 cent.

since everyday there is sales and promotion then consumers eventually will not get attract to the catch anymore after sometime.

so i think sales and recession wil not have a linkage anymore.

but maybe fear and news are making people more wary of over spending.

sales promotion are everyday things with r or no r.

sales are just big signage to lure shoppers in fact it might not be truely cheap.

for example an optical chain with the name that contain 2 numbers, everyday 365 days they got sales and promotion. but when i went in to see actually it is just gimmicks.

but psychology consumers will surely feel better with all the big signage when buying things.
