Finally with your demise do singaporeans realise that you were, are and will always be the only true singaporean who gave his life to stand up for singapore.

May your rest in peace with God by your side. I will be there for sure. The only good thing is that you cant be sued for dying or will the government also change the law so you can. But you will have the last laugh and deservingly so as it should be.

In time of real war, you think all these young commanders are willing to risk their lives for the country? I’m sure by then not only they will disappear, the ones higher up there could already have landed themselves out of the country and leave you citizens to fend for yourselves.

I was in SAF and this colonel said I was useless and he gave me no job. So, I did nothing for eight months and I still get paid. Then I had to go to Siberia and that is to MSD and I was old and I have a family to feed and so I went. In MSD they also said I am useless and even though I carried out Malay to English translations for 14 years. If I am dumb how can I translate. I did not have a teacher and I taught myself. That is the SAF.

The white knights will move up because their daddies are in the high positions of PAP.They will not be told they are dumb. BGs and Col will say how smart they are or otherwise they will be in serious trouble.

We are going to get a whole lot of lousy commanders made up of white knights and scholars.

Do you know what a real war is? I am in Indochia and these countries had long wars. I can cite personal stories and their stories will make you sh– bricks.

How will the white knights fight – from the rear – from hq. All the ah bengs at the front will die.

So, they said I am dumb. Now, I am a journalist, sub-editor and photographer for a daily in Indochina and some it are self-taught.

I am old and in my late 60s and yet I can still learn and self-learn to sub-edit and to to take press photographs. Not to boast eh.

I was always wondering why in spite of all my hardwork I was only a Private when I complete my national service. For many years I thought I was not good enough. But when I see the performance of all these white knights then I realise it is not me but the system. So this is the REAL world!

Someone needs to keep track of the younger son of LHL who was recently commisioned an officer in SAF. See how fast he moves along the fast track of promotions. I am sure that within the next 5 years he will have some ‘General’ rank on his shoulder epaulets.

Its all God’s miracle that all the talent in our country is concerntrated in one family and its a greater miracle that marriage can make you much more brilliant than people ever gave you credit for. If ever we have a “freedom of information act” the world would be shocked when a “relationship tree” is drawn up to the people in power. But then we definitely have a “Asian God” which only believes in “Asian values” and thus all can be explained.

Yes, I too remember that day in 1981. But most important to me was the developments that followed. I appreciated what the ruling party was doing for Singapore on the economic level but I also lost all respect on a personal level. I saw a man scorned. I saw a man with hatred and vengefulness in his eyes. I saw a man who would go to any extent to get revenge. I saw a sytem being abused, I saw moral authority go out the window. In JB I saw a gentleman, in another I saw a posessed man who was intoxicated by power and was willing to destroy single human rights in the drive towards absolute power. I saw absolute power being established and I saw the next target of retaining power within the family and friends. But JBJ did not die in vain, the seeds he planted in many is taking shape now. The repressive moves have started but the fight has gotten tougher, people have learned, they know their tricks and started to turn the tables on them. Oppostions were discredited, they every move was crutinised and expose , now they are getting a taste of their own medicine and its hurting.

It is a great loss because when we ask ourselves who is there to take over his role, the answer is an oblivious blank stare in our face.
