Nobody expected this to happen but the conditions have changed very negatively since September.

I Can Honestly Say . . .
that you can’t say the same for your pay.

Ah, BL, did you see how he said it on tv? Face so black, like a small boy being force to say the things he didn’t want to say. Seemed like he was pushed to make such a statement to save the face of his boss. You know, like oh, pay, som, you lose; go wipe boss’s ar**hole.
This is how the PAP has been working these past 5 years. Have its ministers saying different things and when the situation fits, just quote the most apt one that supprots its argument. Sure win one, when the MSM will then go on silent mode with what the others have said that do not fit the situation.
How to forget the words of someone else who felt so rich way after September?

Singapore’s next quarter economic growth is expected to be -1%.

No, I didn’t watch the news.
Anyway, I am sick of this bunch of losers who can only talk but not take any action.
Unfortunately, I still have to see your smug faces for the next 10 years at least.
Damn.

Elites always claim they got helicopter vision. Unfortunately they forget to tell us that their helicopters are always grounded.
Therefore they will say it is the people’s fault again since we did not ask them properly.

Good thing = due to my competence.
Bad thing = not my fault.
I Can Honestly Say . . .
I can do the same too for half the price.
It has changed negatively since 2007.
Very few people in this world can foresee this type of thing.
gemami
Hi ArtBoon,
True, only the very wise can foresee this type of thing.
Thing is, this PAP govt have been telling us they are the wisest, not only in Singapore, but the whole wide world. So you see, if they did not foresee this type of thing, then the whole world is excused for not being able to foresee this type of thing.
Now that we know they are not so wise afterall, or rather, lack basic wisdom even, then shouldn’t we review the manner in which they have been paid? Perhaps we need to look further back and reclaim the monies we have been hoodwinked into paying them for the wisdom that isn’t there at all?
You have to reap what you sow. period.
gemami
How do you propose to “review the manner in which they have been paid”?

The signs were there when the subprime thing started in mid 2007 that something was about to go wrong. Economy will sure go down when property bubbles burst just like what happened to Japan in the 80s.
Elites should have known that things will not be smooth running given our dependance on US but they still proclaim we are in golden period. Give everyone false sense of hope back then and now have to eat back their words. Helicopter vision my foot.

ArtBoon,
Please visit here, post #52).

I read #52 that you have shown me. I see a lot of analysis of the previous words spoken by various politicians. So? Nothing change…

Hi ArtBoon,
We all know the big talk from these ministers who proclaimed unabashedly that that they are the wisest people around who, when duly paid their dues, would be able to find us the solutions to ride us out of any storm. But when trouble knocks, they made u-turns to proclaim things like they do not always have the answers, that they are not always supreme and cannot be A-plus all the time.
You asked how we should review them and I suggested we used their own words to measure if they meet up to expectations, the expectations they have presented to the people themselves, in case you miss this suggestion.
The quotes were the articulations of the ministers who, after proclaiming their wisdom from the mountain top, now either tells us that they have been lying or have simply gone into hiding like Vivian who proclaimed that there are no secrets in Singapore (read: TC’s & Minibombs).
So we have the above minister telling us that they were blind when the warning signs were since 2007? Indeed, they were blind; blinded to be exact, by the riches in their hands.
Isn’t this a good way to make our review. To also review ourselves and see if we have entrusted ourselves to the right people who are now beginning to show so much dishonesty in their dealings with the people?
gemani
Ok, you are correct. So we make the review. So it is proven, based on your view, that “Indeed, they were blind; blinded to be exact, by the riches in their hands”. So?
gemami
ArtBoon,
Thank you for seeing my point and agreeing that I am correct.
I know where you are coming from and I alone am not able to give you the answer to your question. The only thing I can do is to extend the education to others who may not be aware of these empty promises, just like your good self who did not realised these empty promises till now.
I have always called for small steps and patience, and small steps I will be taking with lots of patience. So, we shall see what the result will be when this govt next call for the mandate to govern.
There is no answer to your question, “So?”, for now.

But, Mr Lim, your boss – the PM – was quoted in the papers recently as saying there’s no global recession, and if there’s no global recession, by default, Singapore should also not be in recession.
Now, why are you rubbing egg all over your boss’ face?
