Certainly I did not agree with his economic views, as a economist. However, I feel that my father was on the right track when it came to his political views. Right till the end, he continued to tell Singaporeans that the government belonged to them, and not the other way round….

Yes, that is true. The government is indeed belongs to the people of the country, not to any family, not to any party, not any association, and not to any business corporation. It can only do more harm to the people as a whole.
Hopefully, Kenneth will take that step to marry his father’s political views along with his economic views and be a thought leader to the many Singaporeans who shares his father’s political views.
Bravo, bravo, bravo !!
Yes indeed, as true as night follows day, and day follows night. Let this be taught to each and every Singaporean, especially children who also owned the government, right.
Similarly, politics is for all ordinary Singaporeans, even though its not necessary to form or join a political party.
Do you need to be a policeman to catch a thief whole stole your pants. Do you need to be a policeman to catch the thief who rob your mothers necklace in the lift. Do you need to be a policeman to you catch ANYONE who commits a crime in front of you in broad daylight or you yourself do the job and not wait for the policeman to come.
So it reasons you dont need to be a politician to talk politics.
Come on, think about it Singaporeans.
A country is no more a country when the garment continues to make mistakes and yet putting the blame onto the people other than themselves. This will only lead to more sufferings to come. There will be no more justice other than their own justification of doing things that only benefit themselves instead of the people.
The truth is that ALL Singaporeans hold that very powerful tool to effect some political change during EVERY election. But look at what happened. WE simply just do not have enough courage to signal to the rulers of this country that we are just sick and tired of all that crappy stuffs they dish to us every so often. So, truly, who is to blame for the state of affairs we are in?
Unless there is a genuine awakening, a coming to our senses, that enough is enough, and that WE ALL pluck up our courage to effect that change, life will simply be just the same…….
GST will be increased again after the election in the name of sustaining a lifestyle that most of us did not ask for;
Transport fares will go up again because of higher operating costs, NOT link to oil prices, because we are fools enough to believe them;
SP tariffs will go up because our intermediary, SP, simply loses control over the prices that the producers of electrical powers charge them; like as though we are idiots every time they assume we bought their stories;
ERP will soon creep up to close to your doorsteps in the name of reducing traffic congestion; like as though we are retards not to know that they are simply pushing congestion from one road to another so that they can erect another ERP gantry to the previously uncongested road. Hey, how can any simpleton not thought about such a clever ploy?
And they will raise the salaries of the ‘you know who’ in the name of a first class governance; a pay that is linked to corporate top-guns but when trouble brews, they simply side step the issue with no reference to the penalty a corporate top-gun will face.
Singaporeans, Sons and daughters of this precious little red dot, we need to come to our senses. Don’t let this idea of the fear of a freak election frighten us into another few years of misery. It is time for a change. We, the citizens of Singapore, hold in our dear hands, the map of our very own destiny. We need to let them know we can take it no more.
We, the lot of us who pay taxes, need more than lip services.
Cheers…and may we bond together to struggle through yet another uncertain year.
sombody please help to spread TOC websites to as many friends and relatives by words of mouth, through office colleagues and through all means of communications through all your internet buddies, the problem here is there are still many people who are not aware of whats been going on in and around the country, still the only source of news is through the local state controlled MSM which will only publish the good stuff and hide all the dirty things from the people.
Yea, let not the govt be hijacked by rogues who “jia liao bee”!!!

Without JBJ
no Opposition.
Period.
He contributed to the liberation.
Basically as what Mr Nair said, usually the smartest and the brightest who really knows more or less whats going on in our little red dot political scene are our legal Singaporean comrades. It is our bunch of local lawyers who should know our laws, constitution, inside out – what can be done, what cannot be done – and what they DO NOT want to do [to speak out and fight for the unfairly treated]. They do not want to ‘chap’
If indeed one needs to finger a blame – first and foremost direct at them.
Look at the ones that are engaged by our powers, take a look at the AG, compare also with the newly appointed law big chief. Underneath there are lots and lots of significance one cannot see nor read from our msm. Relate all these to what Mr Nair said in his blog.
Speaking for myself, I believe our legal comrades are the brains that can help individual SIngaporeans to govern Singaporeans for individual Singaporeans [as opposed to parties to protect their own power instead [but woe betide, most of them seems to be detached from the common folks/heartlanders as most of them live not in the heartlands]
I believe if the sons of JBJ should decide to stand out and continue from where their father’s work for the people of singapore, there will definately be very strong support from the ground. Being as legal professionals like their daddy, they should have no problem identifying the problems we all the true singaporeans are now facing. Given a choice, I believe they could easily win over the trust of the citizens of singapore.
I have always been in the opinion since the mid-70s, that if Singapore”s
population is at least half non-Chinese, the govt’s series of economic pies
would not all have been swallowed wholesale. Why????? Because the
Chinese is basically an economic animal.
Though, am 60yrs old now, I beleive I shall never come across a non-Chinese
in his sixties and older. scrounging for discarded tin-cans/cartons in HDB
estates, collecting for sale to the karang-guni wholesaler.
Are younger Singaporeans below 50yrs old prepared to accomondate a
gradual decrease in property values up to 20% from current levels, between
now up to the end of the next decade?????
