Report from the Straits Times:

POLICE yesterday arrested a man in his 40s for vandalism, after a wall outside Parliament House was defaced at lunch hour.

Scribbled in black marker on the top right corner of the wall were the words: ‘Hi Harry Lee. I love you.’

Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew is called Harry by some of his family and old friends.

The wall, located at the junction of North Bridge Road and Parliament Place, is about the height of an average man. It serves as a signboard and has the Singapore Crest and the words ‘Parliament’ and ‘Singapore’ on it.

At about 1.30pm yesterday, uniformed guards were seen running out of Parliament House to nab the man while he scribbled on the wall.

They wrestled to the ground the medium-built man, who was wearing a red T-shirt and brown trousers.

It took three guards to subdue him as he refused to be pinned down and tried to wriggle free.

well at least we can say this time the enforcement is rather fair. :P… you will still face punishment even if you write compliments.

  4. That is the problem with this PAP govt. Why allow markers and then keep all the papers. Where do you think these people are going to write their love notes?

Showing love for leader(s) is dangerous in Singapore,

    luckily he was arrested.

There was and is always a very likelihood that others might not agree with your love for the leader which may then result in affray and injury.

BUT SHOWING PUBLICLY THAT ONE LOVES HIS/HER COUNTRY AND LEADER(S) SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED AS THIS PUBLIC DISPLAY ONLY GOES TO SHOW HOW GREATLY RESPECTED OUR LEADERS ARE.

    NO ?

If he is charged for vandalism, he could be caned. That would be ironic – to express love for the MM and then be caned for it.

Remember Michael Fay? I am curious about what the authorities would do.

Before you go shooting at TOC, I belive MSM was the first to break this news.

TOC just posted a link here for its readers to comment about this incident. Since when did TOC incite anything anti-PAP in its post?

The best person for the job would be Seng Han Thong but unfortunately, he received an act of love of a more fiery kind recently.

No where did he say that. That guy may be referring to his father, brother or somebody elese

LKY doesn’t believe in Fairness! He believe some people are more equal than other. So where the level playing field! Hasn’t he comment that top 5% of elite in boeing 747 crash, all us will die with them without good government.

He believe the Stupids will give birth to Stupids Babies and the Intelligents will give birth to Intelligents Babies. An Graduate will produce Superior Babies. But see what today, Graduates also out of Jobs and in the end we don’t have babies. How we want to educate future generation of LKY’s belief, a muslim can’t be President of USA. Always believe You CAN!

Sooner or later Singpore is just hotel or company for international residents nothing else!

  34. You know it’s funny that so many events are happening and it’s not even the end of January yet. This year promises to be a very interesting one. As more and more people feel tired of being led around by the nose by a paternalistic, over-paranoid government, more and more people will figure out they have nothing to lose by protesting or breaking rules about assembly and speech.

While there will be some martyrs, let’s hope it leads to a society where the government is scared of the people, not the other way round.

I believe everyone has been misled and was not told the whole truth..
Apparently this guy was charged for 3 counts of vandalism.

Graffiti No 1. ‘Go sue me Lee Kuan Yew…’
    Graffiti No 2. ????????
Graffiti No 3. ‘Hi, Harry Lee. I love you’

Please note that Graffiti No 1 was incomplete.
Wonder what else were written that cannot be revealed!
There was completely a blackout on Graffiti No 2.
    Really curious!

    So this is our MSM.
Two reportings and we are still groping in the dark.
Sounds so fishy we might as well wrap them up in newspapers (The Straits Times) and serve them with chips (Integrated Resorts).

    So many “mad” people nowadays.

Set MP on fire, go to IMH for “psychiatric examination”.

Do Singaporeans like or dislike LKY?

This reminds me of a joke. During the days when people were fearful of President Brehnev of USSR, an American visited a Russian friend in an restaurant in Moscow.

The American asked the Russian. “Do you like your President, Breshnev?”

The Russian looked around, saw people in the restaurnt, and asked the American to go outside.

In the street, the American asked again, “Do you like Brehnev?”

The Russian look around and saw many people walking up and down the street. He took the American up a bus to a deserted part of Moscow.

The American said, “Okay, there is nobody around. Can you tell me. Do you like Breshnev?”

The Russian said, “Actually, I like him a lot! “.

SO WHAT? TOC is somewhat an anti-government establishment since it features what the States Times would never dare publish. What’s the point of telling anti-LKYers that the site they’re visiting is advocating anti-LKY ideals?

Please don’t label TOC as anti-government establishment .

I think it is more appropriate to see TOC as a Pro-Singapore site.

It offers a meeting place for diverse views to be aired so the public can ponder on and decide what is the better direction for Singapore to move forward.

Don’t mistake diverse views that happen to be heavy on criticizing government as anti-government establishment . The government better ask if what they see here reflect the general feelings the official government channel failed to reflect.

Is our government leaders and officials lost touch with the ground?
