Today, January 5, is the birthday of Mr JB Jeyaretnam.
Mr Jeyaretnam served as an MP for the Workers’ Party of Singapore from 1981-86, and again from 1997-2001. Having left the Workers’ Party, he recently formed the Reform Party to challenge the more than 40-year rule of the People’s Action Party.
He died of a heart failure in the early morning of September 30, 2008 at the age of 82, leaving two sons.
The following is a video by Seelan Palay to commemorate Mr Jeyaretnam’s birthday.

[...] In Celebration of JBJ’s Birthday [...]
Peace be with you wherever you may be, Mr J.
I’ve always said many times and I’ll say again, if Cheng San was won by him back in ‘97, we’ll be looking an entirely different Singapore. No doubt about it. That stolen election was the figurative straw that broke the oppostion’s back. After that, everything went to hell.
That’s the part of me that I can never let go. I can’t, I just can’t.

Perhaps, better for the late JBJ to rest in peace than living and fighting with LKY and PAP (he was a very tired old man both physically and mentally all these years). May his soul rest in peace forever.
Regards
Andrew Chuah
He has fought too long… Although it is a deep blow to the singaporeans, it is better that now he is in a better place… The people of singapore will not realise the sacrifice he has made his whole life against elitism unless they too begin to open their eyes to the deception.
