I will always remember JBJ for his sacrifice and suffering. When leaders are demanding millions to serve the people, here was a man who was willing to give up everything for his belief that power must be with the people.

All the self glorifying leaders are not worth the dust on his feet. I am sure he died with a clear mind and heart , earning the respect of many. That’s something no amount of money and power can buy. Money and power can buy you a state funeral, hundred of “advertsiements” (I would not call them obituaries), perhaps a statue in town but can it get a you a genuine tear from a stranger. Can you get the ache we feel in our hearts when JBJ died..never

sadly most peoople have not understood the man due to whatever reason that comes to your mind.

other than those who are interested in political issues of singapore,
i am afriad many are clueless about this giant of singapore. due to whatever reasons.

Going by the Internet alone, one wonders how come the PAP still wins 67% of the popular vote.

maybe if jbj can give so power to his sons for them to join politics.

indeed a true lion of singapore. a man of integrity coupled with a love for the common people. a man who can hold his head up high, beaten but unbowed! a true son of singapore! history will rate you as a greater person than those who believe they are.
the out pouring of grief at the wake and funeral from the common people belies the often mouthed mantra that singapore is not ready for a non-chinese pm. the people of singapore is colourblind! we are not interested in the race of a person so long as he is capable and correctly motivated. unfortunately those who preach meritocracy suffers from prejudice. there is a glass ceiling in singapore and no amount of window dressing will fool right thinking people!
farewell jb, you have a special place in our hearts!
