It seems unnatural that despite journalists probing quite insensitively by asking him the same question over and over again, Mr Ng was surprisingly not irked and instead said that he did not want to discuss the issue after saying there was no meeting to oust him.

I’m inferring there was a meeting that he as Chairman closed, and then after he left, the rest reconvened to table the vote of no confidence.

As an isolated internal affair of the party, we have no concern. With the implications of this incident on the state of the opposition, we can’t help but draw the conclusion that the PAP party is probably still the most stable and well run.

In order the opposition to progress rapidly, members should have more skills in presentation,especially in public. Mr. Ng speech was not prepared well. He should have gone for phonetic classes for his vocals.

This is not a complaint but a compliment so that Mr Ng can progress.

The public like me, is not totally convinced about the meeting. If only 3 pax resigned, where are the rest. How did the meeting started again ?

Anyway best of luck, to all 3 for their future endeavours. Hope that another new party may invite all three.

I suppose there’s a conflict of interest ever since Kenneth joined the party, possibly the old guards versus the new ones under Kenneth.

Seems Mr.Ng is Chinese-educated. If so, his command of English is indeed commendable, though he is not accurate in his pronunciation of certain words.

But he’s right in wishing Kenneth lots of luck on his political journey, which he has no experience at all. But then, that is what mavericks and superstars are made of. Just look at Lee Kuan Yew…. When he took over control of Singapore in his early 30s, most political analysts were mocking at him behind his backside.

So the same might happen to Kenneth J.

If Mr. Ng is Chinese educated, he should have spoken in Mandarin as his platform and a English speaking ex CEC member should have accompanied him to translate in English. This is looks a like lone battle. Where are the rest of the exCEC ? Not good for the unity of opposition?

But the mystery remains on Mr Ng submitting his resignation to the New Chairman. Why did he walked out of a meeting ?

Wish that Mr Ngs group can start a Party or join other party immediately and a put up a common manisfesto as mentioned in his Forum speech. Wish him the best to unite the other oppositions.

Its great when we compare the PAP to the Reform Party. Given the amount of resources and opportunities given to the PAP, you would assume that they will not make any mistakes.

However, the PAP has make so many serious blunders in the past few years. The Reform Party may not be able to read statements out correctly, but its more important to have a heart and a desire to lead Singapore, than to be proficient in hiding mistakes.

i have this inkling feeling that the CEC’s vote of no confidence against NTS is purely an administrative vote because he has already tendered his resignation.

As I have written many times before in TOC the latest episode at the Reform Party confirms what the PAP has been laughing at the opposition parties in Singapore. Oppostion party members here no convictions, no firm and confident believes in their parties. The slightest misunderstanding or disagreement would mean jumping ship or forming another party.

Let’s have solidarity of all oppositon parties and not be a laughing stock and mocked by the PAP.

Mr Ng T S please don’t form another new party for the sake of democracy in Singapore. We have too many already.

Mr Teck Siong is a true fighter, his dedication to standing by JBJ will always be remembered and close to our hearts.

I will support any initiative that he takes on. And this leaves a black mark on RP for being unkind to someone so committed to JBJ’s ideals.

NTS is neither good in English nor Chinese. Yes, he should have taken phonetic lessons with his son. He was just leeching on JBJ with a hope of piggy backing into Parliament.

Differences among members within a Party can happen from time to time. Based on the books published, it also happened within PAP in its early years.

It is through resolving the differences and unifying the thoughts of party members, a party makes progress.

In judging a person, one should read his or her thoughts instead of just his or her spoken language skill.
