News Report: A woman dead, another critically ill after eating Indian Rojak in Geylang Serai

SINGAPORE: In Singapore, more than 110 people came down with severe food poisoning over the weekend after eating the local salad dish “Indian Rojak” from a popular hawker stall in Geylang Serai.

The incident has claimed at least two lives so far including that of a two-month-old foetus after its mother fell ill and miscarried.

The other victim, 57-year-old canteen worker Aminah Samijo, was put on life support last Friday and died on Monday morning.

I strongly feel that the gravy is contaminated or mishandled. Could it be Overnight gravy stored in our humid climate for bacteria to breed? Anyway let NEA deal with it.

I think the TC or NEA or AVA should take a serious to the place. Is so dirty and rats running around and Flies flying everywhere. Why everytime our government board must wait until something happen then take action, and they still can get high pay and 8 month bonus.

Are the regulators getting complacent now? No more checks or just go through the motion? Or are they not getting paid enough so become half hearted in their jobs? Or are foreign talent doing the job now? Hope to see the cause behind this revealed as soon as possible.

Given the high temperature and humidity these couple of weeks….we should take extra care in storing our cooked as well as uncooked food

    Very sad indeed.
I don,t understand this case was thrown off as an accident.
110 was taken ill of food poisoning, 2 death,1 women miscarriage,
no one took responsibility. If I were to drive my vehicle without giving proper signal,
I will be charge even no accidents occurs.
Nea must not consent any Dick to manage even temporary market without relevant  supervision.Kg Ubi CC should focus more of community  affairs than organizing pasar malam, etc.Pasar malam was usually congested with food prepared without license, with the cylinder gas around, overcrowded could lead to something.
