Updates: Fire in Marina Bay has been put out. The fire was caused by 18 acetylene cylinders falling off a lorry moving along a road off Central.

SINGAPORE : The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said there has been a series of fires in the Marina Bay area, where there are a number of construction sites. 

Callers to the MediaCorp news hotline said they had heard about four explosions. 

The site is said to be emitting a lot of black smoke, about 5-storey high in places. – CNA /ls
