i’m not gong to comment on what and how LBW did or di not do, but will just offer an observation of Liu’s performance as a coach – based on what i saw during the Singapore women’s team matches in Beijing. against s.korea, Liu was constantly calling for time-outs at critical points in the match-ups, especially when a player was losing too many points in a row. i’m no table tennis expert but i’d presume he would be offering advice on how the player could adjust or perhaps even to calm her down. against china, the time-outs were perceptably less, even when a player looked like she was having trouble coping. as far as i’m concerned, this showed that Liu basically had thrown in the towel against china even before the match was over! it’s unacceptable. with the players singapore had, we were expected to end up with the silver (based on teh world rankings then), so Liu did just enough to meet expectations. i’m not saying that we would have beaten china had Liu got off his butt more often during the china match instead of just sitting impassively on the sidelines, but he didn’t even bother to show that he was trying!

LBW choose not to meet Liu face to face tells the whole story.Only coach like Liu who understand China pin pong would be able to make a silver for Singapore. This year nothing, so is next year….Look at China’s player…..so young so fast, so powerful…….we can’t even match their C Team….Credit must be given if due…not to taken away by small people….

liu guo dong has no shame. ask any of his players that he shamelessly say he trained – and they will all tell you what a terrible coach or useless coach he was. players were already of a certain standard to begin with and which coach would actually ask his players to boycott a ‘particular’ player.

stta should come out and tell the world what liu guodong has done… or in this case has not done. he is a guy with absolutely no values or integrity. and obviously to award him coach of the year is absolutely nonsensical.

before he left stta, he was already given a big sum of money. ask any table tennis player in china or in the singapore team… they will sure tell you how “gooodddd’ he already is. even our sports school player can beat him any day.

If LBW can think and plan like a coach……LIU shouldn’t be born…….please lah!!!! go meet him face to face…say sorry…..show the humanity side of you, at least get whole of singapore to support you NOT ONLY YOUR BOSSSSSSS!!!!

LBW has screwed up once too many over minor issues with petty personality. Liu’s incidents are really too small to stir into public outcries. When she said those things she did not think that this man would come all the way to pursue, she mis-calculated. By going to 5 star hotel to reach a settlement, it means the government is admiting its their own fault. The government officials likes to sue for deflamations and they are famed for doing and by backing down on its comments, this becomes embarrassment. LBW has pettiness in her, by pursuing Liu all the way, Liu has come back to haunt her.

I think LHL will give her lessons behind the scenes as citizens are scrutinising the government’s every move to find faults.

Election is on the way, they cannot afford to create more bad public sentiments on their candidates. So I guess LBW may be left out sooner than to be a liability, thats the PAP style, you screw up, you go silently.

I think this election would be one of the most interesting elections, their votes will be further eroded after so many unpopular policies with cost of living raised to the ceilings and most vital of all, their multi million pay that bring disastrous economical performances in the last 2 years and billions of losses at Temesak/GIC.

I think it’s time for Ms LBW to practise some decency and step down from STTA. She is receiving tax-payers money through her monthly MP allowance and STTA is receiving annual grants of a $2-3 million from the Singapore Sports Council (also tax payer’s money). If you ask Singaporeans/ taxpayers to assess her performance as STTA president, most will conclude it is an embarassment for Singapore and a failure.

Sly fox LBW. Arrange for meeting with coach in 5-star Shangrilah, impress and treat him to 5-star meal but herself never show-up. Really 缩头乌龟. If she’s got no guts at all to face this man and to justify her accusations, she’s got absolutely no credibility at all to be MP.

Yeh, things are really churning as the plot thickens with controlled meetings, and the disappearance from public of LBW.
If not for some good souls, like the fair man in former MOS, Dr Tan Eng Liang , ex-coach Liu may already have been shuttered up.

Guess the establishment has no choice – LBW is in PM’s GRC, and her appointment to STTA must have the clearance of PM. Also as first time MP, her mentoring must have some PM’s involvement. Damage control is in full swing as the PAP does not want the citizens to look at LBW and sees LHL instead.
Hence yes – “face mask, sit down and shut up”.

Sad day for justice, and sadder day for the citizens as by their action, the establishment still think that the citizens are all born yesterday.

Her boss had asked her to “sit down, shut up”.

That’s why she will not be in any future meetings.

And our coach was probably asked to state in public that meeting Ms Loud Mouth in person was not necessary. Damage control team is working very hard, there goes the weekends.

Lee Bee Wah’s antics are representative of the PAP’s style of governance. Take credit for perceived “achievements” but take cover for mis-steps, mistakes, etc. The time proven formula for “success” is to put the blame on others and the market forces.

“What is the value of integrity if thou cannot warm thy seat which equals my fortune?”

Temasek has been announcing astronomical losses without any accountability by its CEO. To chart Temasek’s direction after failing Singaporeans repeatedly is simply a mind-boggling stooge’s act.

Perhaps, instead of a golden parachute practised in USA, the Singapore government will reward this outgoing CEO with a Platinum parachute, thereby, creating another world’s 1st for Singapore, at the expense of the taxpayers, as usual.

You don’t need to be good. You just need to be connected. Welcome to meritocracy, PAP style.
