About 400 people gathered at Hong Lim Park last Saturday to support the call for the release of Burmese opposition leader, Aung San Suu Kyi. The event was organized by Singaporean NGO, Maruah.

    400 people is a lot by Singapore standard, given that Singaporeans are here to gather to advocate for the release of political prisoner of conscience Aung San Suu Kyi. Where were the Singaporeans for Chia Thye Poh? He was released in 1997 but back then Speaker’s Corner does not exist in Singapore.
