  19. Yesterday ST article, Ho K P, a member of Think Tank, predicted a very vibrant and very successful Singapore in the year 2059, after 100 years of PAP’s rule, and the PAP is still the dominant party of Singapore.

He predicted LHL will hand over the premiership to a fourth-generation leader in 2020 when he is 68 years old. I posted in another TOC article that the PAP, in 2020, would rather hand-over power to FTs rather than to Chee S J and his coalition partners just like the Ming Dynasty’s army surrendered to the Manchus, a non-Han Chinese tribe from north of China, instead of letting the Chinese peasants take over the country. History may repeat itself here in Singapore, the new little Middle Kingdom.

FTs and FWs already constitute 25% of the population of Singapore now. So, Dr Chee you may have to fight against the new ‘Manchus’ beside the PAP.

Agree CSJ does not speak like a mad man and he was never mad.
It was the Mad Minister who made the accusation. Spore has put up with the antics of this old fart for far too long.

As someone had pointed out, LHL is absolutely no match for CSJ.
I believe CSJ can quite easily put LHL in the pocket,

Chee Soon Juan is not ‘seow’ just because an octogenarian called him ‘seow’! I still remember Anthony Yeo’s (God bless his soul) kind comments on the desperately ‘sick’ psychopath comment.

Talking about wives. . . better not talk about it. The audacity of the greatest wastrel of public funds takes the cake! And if that’s not enough, she asking for more funding by tempting more suckers to invest in Temasek in the news today. Really, how daft and thick-skinned can one be???

Compared to one who has to take care of three kids who’s husband has to pop in and out of jail just because he dares to be true to his soul and tell it like it is!

But Low Thia Khiang? What has he done? Even when Temasek loss so much he diam diam. Very disappointed. Last GE so many people support WP but they have done nothing at all.

His ability to speak is quite rare in singapore, at least based on what i have seen.

It is heartening to read the positive comments about CSJ. However I feel Mrs. Chee deserves a lot of respect too. She is a role model to all women when it comes to understanding what it takes to stand by your man, especially under the circumstances. That’s why Chee has superior taste to LHL in choice of woman.

One wife is exemplary whilst the other is giving the hubby and famiLee a freaking heartache and headache.

And yes, I really respect Mrs Chee for standing by her man. It is not a common virtue this days.

It would be great if TOC or other bloggers could do a special coverage on the majority who always supported the PAP.

I mean , to educate the public why they still continue to support and will continue to support and the effect of their ensuring no change in this aspect on the whole country , the poorer and the richest and the young jobseekers and employees in their late 30′s to 40′s and onwards and their retirement.

It is afterall a fact that so many exist. But in the face of every issue that surfaced, have they asked or demanded for improvement and if so, in what way have they done that?

    Who constitute the majority, typically?

Dr Chee, bless him, challenges this premise.
Whatever you say say or think about the man, he is indomitable.
I say, give Dr Chee a fighting chance to prove his worth.
If the powers that be are so confident that the people are with them, and that we Singaporeans are part of the First World, surely we will be able to discern right from wrong, crap from good sense, etc etc.

Why “parliament” be the only place for us to “benefit from the capability of CSJ”?

Why not free the media and let us see how CSJ and SDP perform. Have TV forums and debates to test the prowess of the PAP and the opposition.

Free the compliant judiciary and see how the judges deal with the court cases that CSJ , SDP, its members and supporters are forced to stand trials on trumped-up charges.

Let’s say, *knock on wood* Someone – down the family line of the Lee family has a fatal kidney illness.

And the only compatable kidney comes from CSJ.

Do you think the press would want to cover a CSJ story?

I don’t know how it would turn out for the country but it would be the greatest history of Singapore. :)

    Reply
  42. As a start, we need to reduce the 2/3 majority of the PAP as they can change the laws at their whims. To ensure a non compliant judiciary, the selection process needs to be independant and the elections commission as well. If not, the process of getting a balanced parliment will be a pipe dream for Singaporeans. Want the ruling party to listen to its citizens, throw their “mandate” out the window.

  43. This blog Diary of a Singaporean Mind sums it up very simply,

    http://singaporemind.blogspot.com/2009/07/chee-addresses-his-troops.html

    Chee addresses his troops….

Pretty decent speech for someone accused of being a psychopath. Whether you like their politics and cause, you have to accept that joining the SDP does take a lot of courage. All of them are probably put on the watch of the state security agencies and face a high risk of bankruptcy. It is hard for many Singaporeans to see through the negative image the media has painted of Chee but the Internet does help to bring his message to across to more people.

In any other developed country, the SDP would have been just another pro-democracy party…in fact some countries are run by such parties. But in Singapore, the authorities/govt treat them like political extremists….yes, standing up for democracy, justice, equality and freedom is dangerous in Singapore although a number of these ideals are in our pledge because the PAP govt will see it as undermining the system they have created….the PAP has diverse interests other than that of ordinary Singaporeans and these interests are put ahead of justice and equality…we see it in the way the minibond fiasco is resolved.

That is why the PAP treats the SDP as a threat that needs to be crushed rather than just another political party. The SDP is asking for the democratic rights and freedom of Singaporeans to be restored and that is seen as something very wrong by the PAP.

going by the current two oppositions in parliament, the citizens can probably expect similar performances from these “brave souls”.

c’mon, you get more daring and stupid questioning in forums than in parliament and you know why? because these oppositions have NOTHING (no viable alternatives to a competitive economy)or nothing incriminating against the PAP because if they do or dare make the kind of accusations you usually find in forums against them, they be quick to lose their $200k per annum job and all the privileges that goes along with it – beat up so badly, you end up like JBL.

the chees are bold now – nothing to lose. if they step into parliament, it will be a different story – and the difference is….$200k per annum plus….privileges – isn’t that part of the reason why these oppositions behave like quiet little mice in parliament?

Remuneration equal to Obama should be acceptable to majority of citizens, not counting bonuses. Of course some idiots will want to include Airforce One, Presidential retreat ,cost of security arrangements etc, etc to be factored in.

I believe there are people out there who will do it on par with worldclass leaders. I don’t think money alone is the motivation for Chee, Kenneth J, leong Sze Hian, etc , etc. and it is strictly my personal opinion.
The fairest way is to start at the highest pay for worldclass leaders, not including Spore of course.( not worldclass even if endowed with an extra brain)

You certainly have done Chee and his team a great disservice. Chee is anything
but in it for the money. Why should he? He had a good life , family and a good
job before he went into politics. But because of the passion in him to
make a difference, he was knocked down too often for the most flimsy of
reasons and for just exercising his constitutional rights, like they did with JBJ
before. But he had never wavered or conceded to all the abuses of power and
for that he deserves our admiration.
