basically in Singapore, it is more costly to go to Court than to simply ignore the debt owned. It’s the same reason people chose to settle out of court settlements regardless of whether they were ‘guilty’ or not.

Actually after reading josie’s profile in a local woman’s mag, i think she will celebrate with a shopping haul of Marc Jacobs dresses, diamond studded watched and bespoke jewellery worth $90k!

A woman like that truly inspires other women to be fabulously rich, wantonly materialistic and spend spend spend! Imagine what AWARE would have been with these ladies in charge… do we even wonder how she can spend $90k in 5 weeks!

If this is the kind of ‘achievement’ we should look up to?

i am quite sad that no effort is made to recover the money spent, but i can (maybe) understand why they will not persue the case. time & effort can be put to better use in helping women then be bogged down with the case.

Aware (current) vs Thio & Co. we can guage what Aware is up against, the odds do not look good. unless out of goodwill, people step in to fight for the money, the current Exco should do what they do best (or better) & that is to help women.

in not pursuing the lost money outright, the current Exco has in fact subtly offered an olive branch in reconciliation. ;)

the ball is in Thio & Co’s court, to return in full or partially the amount spent out of goodwill, in the name of helping a civil society group, as they claim in their early days in Exco positions. furthermore, since Dr Thio did mention that $90,000 is not much (or something to this effect…).

The expenses were incurred because Old Guard wanted EGM. Old guard created it and they should be held accountable. No?Yes?
Also the amendment is not helping much..if you have a lousy team you wil still be sacked! The amendments only deprive and delay new members the opportunity to stand for office. It is a kia su mentality at work.

some are just hell bent on saviouring whatever victory they can, now we know they were not who they said they were- to help champion womens’ causes, only their own narrow self-interests.

they can no longer claim any moral high ground now…
