It is mind-boggling how these people think.

Also, notice the positive title? “Singapore Scores Well in Most Areas”

I don’t know whether to laugh or to cry sometimes.

I have limited formal education. Can someone please correct if I am to understand the above to also mean that of the 212 countries surveyed, 65 percent fared better?

And at a percentile ranking of 35, how many First World countries are in the rankings from 1 to 34, above Singapore’s?

Ouote [ For the second consecutive year, Singapore had a percentile rank of 35 in a World Bank index, voice and accountability. This measures "the extent to which a country's citizens are able to participate in selecting their government, as well as freedom of expression, association, and the press".

This means, of the 212 countries surveyed, only 35 per cent fared worse than Singapore in this area. ] Unquote.

What a dumb quote. Yes we are seeing Singapore being open..open to abuse, corruption, mismanagement and most of open to the complete lack of accountability and transparency. period

ya s’pore is more open now, record more new immigrants (since , say, 1980) and record FTs numbers have worked and working here.

more is a comparative term. Its the quantum that is more meaningful.

guys,

the openness here in sg is – the gahmen is ‘open’ indeed but it doesn’t approved. so if you are not careful, you can be caught ‘red handed’ if you think it so ‘open’ and did something that you shouldn’t do it in the first place.

Singapore is indeed more open.

Open to more sin and wickedness

that are openly done without qualm.

We are witnessing openly, old folks suffering,

people jumping into mrt track and down highrise building.

And utilities cut off because users unable to pay bills,

evictions from their homes because occupiers unable

to pay installments.

And our leaders opening their big mouths singing praises

of themselves every now and then.

We are in the bottom 35%, yay!!

haha, we score well on the rest of the WB’s indices because they all measure economic stuff. Anything beyond economic stuff – like governance indicators – and we slide terribly.

the country is only more “open” to people like him, and the rest of the elitist who runs this country. They have no idea, or just doesn’t care what the people thinks, or the struggles they go through. They just believe in their own propaganda and look at themselves with tinted glasses, blind to the facts and thinking of ways to squeeze the life out of common people.
