Serving this nation for 2.5 years in full-time national service and 10 years of annual In-camp training with 2 stints of operational responsibilities have left me with the reality of Singapore Inc. The country will suck the marrow out of your life through conscripted service for the defence of the state.

And after that, our $$$ will get squeeze out for the “monetary defense” of the state
govt should relook at how to tweek our NSmen’s competitive edge (economic-wise) after the 2 year conscription.
the annual In-camp Training (& for some the fitness penalty) liable up to certain age or 10 years really puts men at a disadvantage career wise.
this is where S’pore as a country is being held back from realising her full potential, and this is where Hong Kong, being part of China now has an edge, because their men can commit 100% to his work.
closer to the ground i wonder how the govt is working with the private sector to ensure disruptions to daily operations can be further ironed out….
