MPs “too shocked” by minister’s reply
Dr Fatimah Lateef and Dr Lam Pin Min told me, during tea break, that they had not expected a positive reply and were too shocked to ask supplementary questions.

Parliamentarians are only shocked at Parliament Meetings.
Singaporeans are shocked anytime the Ministers wish to shock us.
Minister Khaw and your ilks; make us live in tenterhooks.
patriot
What’s so Shocking ? Singaporeans have been used to receiving Shock Treatment due to courtesy of PAP since Singapore’s independence.
pneumococcal injections do not come cheap. i believe it will cost an average of $150 per jab.
i feel this is yet another way the sg govt is trying to shift the burden of healthcare firmly onto to the citizens.
do countries like us and australia make their citizens pay 100% too?
Prevention is better then cure…
Asking us to pay for prevention will result in a decrease in cost for cure in the future, reducing their expense….
good good good…yah right
Just kick him out of your ward come next GE, this useless PAP bootlickers.
life not worth much to MIW so why should couples risk the heartache of seeing their child succumb to all sorts of health risks of the day when our dears leaders only provide lip service at the cost of millions of $$$?
young couples already have a hard time securing a roof over their heads, govt still does not appreciate couples for their national contribution by having children…
does our govt care enough to demand anything from citizens (be flexible on jobs, moderate expectation on salary, be gracious to foreigners for their contributions, their sub-standard *civil* service to the people)? only know how to demansd for more money when citizens expect a higher level of service. lol….
disappointing… :?
So the minister of health suddenly joined Blogger since Sept 2009… elections must be coming.

A “leader” who promised no means testing before elections, only to quickly break his own election promise after elections. To suggest sending our elderly to JB and Batam. I will never vote for such a person.
MPs are supposed to shock the ministers with questions posed on the people’s behalf. This is one way to ensure that the ministers are always connected to the ground and stay committed to the people the MPs are representing.
Instead, in this instance, our MPs are too shocked to discover that the minister was more acceding that they had feared him to be.
What kind of MPs do we have that fear the ministers? How are they going to speak for the people they represent?
Is this the reason why Khaw decided to start his own blog since he now knows that these blockheads are not going to do him any good in getting connected to the ground?
Or is Khaw attempting to paint himself more important than he is by putting down his fellow MPs?
Khaw’s blog (http://mohsingapore.blogspot.com) that one cannot directly comment ?
Ah Ha, Comment must be screened for shock treatment !

Yes, election is coming and now ministers are “erecting” themselves through blog that does not allow comment. Wow, what’s smart move. But will Singaporeans allow themselves be hoodwinked again ?
So Dr Fatimah Lateef and Dr Lam Pin Min, both medical doctors, can’t perform under pressure?

Another handsome payout just before election and all will be forgiven….as usual.
I am shocked …. shocked that the only (underlying) reason KBH gives for pneumoccal injections is to protect our “talent pool”. Surely, Singaporeans have a dignity that goes beyond serving as the government’s “local talent”?
See.. told you guys Dr Lam Pam Min is a decent person!
Wow! looks like the ‘campaigning’ for ‘opposition’ and ‘ruling party’ views (and perhaps also fence-sitters) have already stepped up under the guise of various media types, even without declared election dates. I am quite sure when the election finally comes, and dramas continue to unfold, the intensity will be very different.
