Affordable ? Initial upfront payment ? How about long term sustainable & subsequent installment payments matching long term earning power vis-a-vis the general economic cost structure (going up and up) of a country.
We shall see, we shall see.
Yes Yes, it is affordable, as well as bigger, as well as better quality….
Well, it is affordable, cos they could have charge even more for it….but they didn’t
it is bigger, cos they could have build it smaller, but they didn’t
it is better quality, cos they could have build it with potholes on top of some leakage, but they didn’t
Oh man, I wish TOC will conduct a survey on the most unpopular minister or something I like. I will sure love to participate and see the result ;-)

ERP rates into city $3.50+2.50+$1.50 -> isnt this crazy and keep going up!
Believe me, they just don’t give a shit about it. How about those sky rocketed motor insurance premiums, they too keep going up non-stop and now you can even opt for different types of coverage. Isn’t all these propaganda business have any connection with the present bunch of elites govt? think carefully, they will keep on emptying out the money in your pocket till you go dry so you people cannot have the guts or too weak to throw them out of govt.
You people of singapore will just have to stand very firm and united to throw these bandits and liars out of singapore before they destroy us all. There is no other way out now except to force them out with a renewed govt.
i feel new flats very expensive.
not easy to live in singapore.
have to try our very best.
hope exisiting government can do some things to help people.
if not hope a new government will be elected to help people.
If you watch the shortie in the news last night, he was talking about the COV blah blah blah.
If i have not mistaken, he mentioned that 1/3 or the HDB resale transaction was closed without paying any COV. He went on to mentioned that as a buyer, you have the right NOT to pay the extra (COV). What a load of rubbish he is talking.
If i am a seller, i would definitely be selling it to the highest bidder.
HDB will not be affordable anymore in years to come. Pity the young generation.
These super talented and expensive goons have run out of ideas as well as words. Now they can think of only ONE word – affordable – to describe any number of things, from HDB flat prices to ERP rates, COE, public transport fares, utilities rates, healthcare costs, their $$$millions salaries, etc etc. And how they love this word!

In the same context, will he want to sell the flat without the profit margin?!
So there we have it, “several hundreds” new citizens and PRs are doing NS. So it was another “affordable” or we are transparent and accountable but we will not reveal anything even if there is public interest statement .
Furthermore, an example of a outstanding Malaysian was provided. Correct me if I am wrong but most Singaporeans have never considered Malaysians “foriegners” nor have we made any issue of them working here or moving here since our independence. Many of our present political leaders are Malaysian born anyway. I did my NS 20 years ago and I had so many Malaysians with me. I never did realise that we needed to integrate Malaysians nor do I need integration when I go to Malaysia. Its like saying people from Jurong need to be integrated when they shift to Bedok. Did anyone one of you guys who did NS in the past few years meet many non-Malaysian foreigners doing NS? So it can a case where the Malaysians have come to the rescue to make up the numbers for foriegners doing NS.
Apparently, we might not understand the benefits of having so many foriegners now but it is very good in the long term. I believe that was exactly the same rational that was provided when the stop at two campaign was launched and now after the long term we are suffering and yet no one has taken the responsibility to admit that they were myopic in their judgement.
Only time will tell if out immigration policy will benefit us in the long term but one thing for sure is that no one will take responsibility if it does not, just like our population policy. Perhaps, we need to look at other countries which had a liberal immigration policy in the the past and use it as a image for our future . I no longer take anyone’s word and as advised by our esteemed leader, we have to take responsibility for our own future.
To Realist #60:
indeed, many of our parliamentarians are Ex-Malaysians.
And
traditionally and even now we do treat our Malaysian Friends as part of the Family.

Send him for some ‘Speak Good English’ classes. He has to learn how to construct his sentences before he speaks. In this instance, he has to complete his sentence by defining if e.g.
a. it is still affordable to the rich Singaporean, or,
b. it is still affordable to the average Singaporean, or,
c. it is affordable to the poor Singaporean.
It is only when he completes the sentence that we can then judge whether the HDB is fulfilling its purpose of providing affordable housing to all Singaporeans, because if his sentence is meant for group a and b, then it is short of its intended aim, where group c is concern.
By speaking in half-sentences, he is giving the impression that he is not truthful, or have something to hide. It is the same as lying, and what do we call a person who lies? Can he still wear white?
