Looks like this had been rehersed umteen times and the crowd already knows its coming. With the ang mo one, the crowd is genuinely surprised. Look at their faces. That video zoom in alot on peoples reaction but not the Spore one. Yes we can copy but face it, we are far behind. Our children & elderly also do not have a life looking at this video.

If only the response of the crowd/audience and the music quality can be copied too, that would be truly great. Look at the ang mo wan that FUPAP @25 posted.

The people both in the dance and audience in the ang mo video range from very young (children) to very old (elderly), and they ALL clearly are enjoying it or at least are appreciating it. The crowd in Spore just do not seem interested much less excited by it. That is the big difference to me. Why is it so and why no elderly out & about like the ang mo version (considering we have an aging population)?

i can't believe this. all these excitement over this commercially driven mass dance. do you even know what you are fighting for? you only let the government laugh at you, barking up the wrong tree, is this what you want to represent? whoever is not against us, is for us, is it? even money grabbers?

XiiAoGeNgEnX,

it is you who politicised the event when you make your remark. We are questioning the law, a kangaroo law. If you mean that questioning the law means politicising the event, is that what your masters have taught you ? Oh, nothing new where in fact your master is a good exemplar !

"It’s cool, it was well executed, and judging from the number of times this video has been reposted on facebook, it’s been well received.

It’s not everyday that such things happen in Singapore, so enjoy it and chill!"

Isn't the same can be said of SDP's "public gathering" video as well ?

When it comes to money thingy and event that glorify the government, it is legal and well-anticipated, and when it comes to opening up Singapore through activism and politics, suddenly it becomes illegal ?
Wow, Kangaroo is rampaging Singapore !!!!! God saves the tiny red dot !

We cannot blame copycatting.
The world has too many top inventors and innovators not found in singapore.
Thus singaporeans follow more than invent.

"this is a commercial organised activities, please don’t call it flash mob! it insulting to the spontaneous!"

Whether it is flash mob or organised activities, that is not the point, the point is that it is still breaking the law, the very same kangaroo law that use against SDP.

Want to know what a real flash mob is? Watch these guys in action, they're at a whole different level. It's really brought by civilians and very little commercial motivation. http://www.youtube.com/user/improveverywhere

This is an interesting show, an innovative way to sell a product. Copycat or not, I must say that it was well done and nicely executed. But this also shows the sad part of being a Singaporean. If you have the money and is a large corporate peddling your products, you can take up half the Raffles Place Square to peddle your ware but if you are a Singaporean voicing your rights to a better way of life and a better government, you can be arrested and charged in court for walking from Point A to Point B, let alone DANCE! Yah, sure you can dance your way to prison!

If commercial services can be allowed free promotion, what's wrong with political promotion? Why even flyering by an opposition party has to have police permit?

These people are impeding traffic flow, although they are just part of a commercial or theatrical act.

Compare this to the 5 who were charged with illegal procession and later acquited but the local prosecutor still wanted to punish them by appealing against the court decision.

What a farce!
