China can be source of strength for community of nations – Obama

In Quotes • 308 views • 14 Comments

So the United States does not seek to contain China, nor does a deeper relationship with China mean a weakening of our bilateral alliances. On the contrary, the rise of a strong, and prosperous China can be a source of strength for the community of nations.

It more because it has now dawned on the West that China cannot be pushed around no more.Otherwise they will continue callng them commie or any other terms of their choice, like some now still termed as Axis of Evil, Terrorists nation, rougue nations,

So does that mean that the MM’s call to the US to counter China in the Asia Pacific simply falls on deaf ears?

I rather see a strong and powerful china in the world than a strong and arrogant white western world. If anyone in Asia is panicking about a strong and powerful china is because of the guilt inflict on china for the last century..Japan and nations that that have subjects Chinese to humiliation and for some treats they chinese citizen as 2nd class citizens and to deny them of them own culture and language.

In another words,Mr.Obama is telling china and rest of East Asia that USA is losing
its grip on the world economy.Very siong for him and his country. He has to say good thing about China because its has US$2 trillion in US T-bills and is also a major source to borrow more money to sustain America’s way of life.If US dollar continues
to fall, imagine the unthinkable. If you have an acct in US$,my advice to you is close
it down and invest in oil or gold.Just few days ago, instead of buying US T-bills,India
has bought 200lbs of gold.I do not understand why our gahment still has so much
confidence in America.Perhaps, there is a secret agenda between the two countries.

what so bad about china being a powerful nation ..the only concern I have is for china to bridge its poor rich divide as fast as posssible. Ensuring that the workers are being properly paid for their labour. Respecting the indivdual rights of their citizen and ensuring that their old folks are being taken care of.

As a 2nd generation singaporean chinese who had never been to china in my life .. i really wish to see a powerful china rather than a weak china been bullied by arrogant western power who use the name of democracy in trying to bring china down.

NOt everybody including OBAMA is so deeply locked up by the Cold War mentality of “strategic balance” of the previous dead century.

It is iritating paranoia at best and, at worse, stupidly irrelevant of contemporary political thinking. The world has moved closer. Obama is even reaching out to Iran, Myammar, looking for a solution in Afghanistan and North Korea , non-confrontational.

Some are blind of vision, obviously.

Our MM asked Obama to engage Asean in order to contain China. And just look at Obama’s response, what an irony right?

And Singapore imported PRCs and Indians by thousands, what are we trying to contain? Trying to contain local citizens at votes? ha ha ha

see human talk human language lah. see ghost talk ghost language lah.

in the midst of major financial crisis, exciting times, more bad than good, are happening in most places & countries which are too much into this global partnership and party. How the benefits, if any, are to get filtered down to the general population of this region (surrounding countries) & our own country are yet to be seen.

after the dust has settled down and talking about boh pian, you still see the newly crown president of USA standing in the middle in the photo op.
