Why so heavy sentence – 16 years???
What kind of serious crimes has she committed???
Who is she? What is her name?
Why not mention her name, but instead mentioned her husband name???
What is the motive of only mentioning her husband name?
Is it to smear his political career? Just because he is from the Opposition???

How come we never get to read the following headlines?

– PM’s wife “no regret” over losing billions in investment

– Mrs Goh Chok Tong: S$600,000 “peanut” for Durai

– Lee Hsien Loong’s son receives warning from Mindef

– Lee Kuan Yew, father of PM Lee Hsien Loong, to be appointed Minister Mentor

– Lee Wei Ling, daugter of MM Lee Kuan Yew and sister of PM Lee Hsien Loong, to be director of NNI

Creating context by association is usually the mark of a poor writer. ST is full of these. Coupled with how little our people in Singapore try to expand their current affairs reading portfolio, this context creation is a way of directing attention where it hurts people who are deemed ‘not in line’.

Very unfortunate that our ST writers won’t be able to grow up for a while. *sigh*

Cheers!

Read the report, she killed someone.

It is also mentioned in the report that this woman is a Chinese National. Seems like violent crimes has risen in recent years with the influx of foreigners.

Pathetic and questionable reporting integrity!

WHY USED AN OPPOSITION MEMBERS’ NAME TO REPORT ABOUT HIS WIFE when it can be and SHOULD JUST BE the Name of the Convicted Person?

The Media SHOULD NOT AND MUST NOT STOOP TOO LOW, it will gain itself great disrespects!

“ex-Opposition” could be confused with “ex-Opposition party member” to the naive.
But was Tan ever a Member of Any PARTY?
I know only that he was an INDEPENDENT candidate.

She could be the wife of anyone. The emphasis on the word “opposition politician” is irrelevant and smack of disrespect to the congnition of the general public.

Oh and we have a law minister that goes around complaining about the low ranking of the press and defending Singapore, claiming that we are NOT a country.

Well, just one quote to explain it all. Mr Law Minister, we should be HAPPY that we are ranked 133th, as far as I’m concern, we should be LAST.

If not for online websites/forums like TOC, we would definitely be LAST.

The New Media has WON, admit it, mainstream media has lost its credibility and is something of a past now.

Bias Reporting is So Obvious

ST reporters, in order to show that you are not bias, try applying the following in your reports next time:

The wife of PAP politician Goh Chok Tong said that $600,000 is peanut.

The wife of PAP politician Lee Hsien Loong lost $58 billion of taxpayers’ money in one year.

The wife of PAP politician Ng Eng Hen continues her silence with regard to the carelessness of the staff in the hospital she is in charge of.

The son of PAP politician Lee Kuan Yew said if there were 10 opposition members in the Parliament then he would have to spend most of his time thinking how to fix them and buy his supporters over.

The son of PAP politician Lee Kuan Yew said, “It happened, what to do?” when Mas Selamat Kestari escaped from ISD detention.

The wife of PAP politician K Shanmugan divorced him before he became a Law Minister.

The above are just some examples. The list can be very long.
