"If every time we run into a problem and the younger generation has grown up for the last 20, 30 years knowing only improvements in life, more income, better surroundings, better everything… that’s a problem."

Yes, there is a problem. Actually there are many problems.

One of the problems is that you think improvements are in the form of economics.

Another problem is that you think courage is by silencing critics - (there is more danger to one's hopes, one's mettle, one's pride, in venturing into the battle of ideas, than in murdering a man who disagrees with you, and that doing so therefore takes proportionally much more courage - Greek Philosophy)

Yes there is a problem for your party, which is viewed by many of the younger generation as a party full of bigotry.

What about the problem with the internet? It has create a lot of awareness amongst the younger generation. It has educated and informed the on goings to us about our very own country, or city as your law minister has put it. On goings which constantly go unreported by our "Let's pat our own backs" national newspapers and that is a true shame.

Yes, the younger generation is expecting more from your party which could be a problem. Although, not better in your version of things. But their versions of things.

And the big problem is, their version of things means that you will have to lose a lot of control over how they think, what they should or should not read and what they should say or not say, you will have to lose control over many things you have been holding dear or think that they are important politically but has been deemed unacceptable by our 21st century generation.

The problem is actually a good problem. The younger generation are paying attention to what their power of vote means and they are asking questions, questions you might not like, and questions that you don't care. Some questions are good, some are outright bad.. but the good thing is, the people of this country are interested enough to ask questions and hopefully participate earnestly, passionately and as committed as they can afford...

The ruling party that you had fronted either listen or you lose them, these young problematic, 'don't know what is good life' voters.. Or perhaps the ruling party prefers to get their votes from new citizens?

Is that one of the plans? Go on, tell us.

"I believe the old man was misquoted. He must have been referring to the new leaders/MPs who have been parachuted into politics and leadership."

He is the one who create such system, he is the one who support such system, he is the champion for his own stooge system, he is the one who do the samewise for his son, relative, kin , and Hojinx to give them position in accelerated manner. He is the one for the dirty linen. So how can he be misquoted ?

Dear Harry, have you heard of the word senescence? have you heard of the emperor's new clothes fable?

the truth is: You are old - you are senile; you are surrounded by 'yes' men who are telling you that you are young and brilliant.

take a bow; but i have no guarantee that the audiences won't throw eggs at you. leave the stage. the country is sinking - this country needs capable and committed leaders selected directly by the people for the people, not your present ones nor your future selected ones.

'Mr Lee added that by the next general election due by February 2012, Singapore will see the nucleus of a new generation of leaders who are as able, determined and committed. '

This old fart lky always (several times at past elections) talked about a new, capable and committed team to run the country. frankly i haven't seen one yet. it is always lky who is running around talking rubbish (the barrel will not rise beyond US110- oh by the way it did; this is our golden age - oh by the way, we have lost SGD100billion in investment; immigrants are good for us - oh by the way, our low crime rate has gone up and our umemployment for citizens has gone up) the show. someone should tell him that his new teams so far are figment of his senile imagination.

Dear Harry,

I graduated from NUS in 2006 with 2nd class (lower) honours. I went around looking for a job but couldn't find one. I gave 2.5 years of my life to my nation but I got nothing back in return. I struggled to find a job for two years. Do you know what TWO YEARS OF CHRONIC UNEMPLOYMENT can do to you? DO YOU KNOW? Let me tell you what it feels like. You lie down at night crying to yourself, wondering if your life is worthless. You stare at the celling, wondering what you've done wrong. You look at yourself, comtemplating the reasons why people have jobs and you don't. You sit up in your bed, and look at your friends moving on ahead while your life remains stationary.

So, don't tell me that my life has been good. Don't tell me that I've only know improvements in my life. I'm now working as a private tuition teacher and critical thinking is an important part of my lesson. Every lesson, I'll bring a copy of the ST to class to expose the government's deceit and lies. I love teaching, but do you know what is even better than teaching? Watching the PAP regime fall.

Yours sincerely,
HECKCARE

The top ministers themselves evidently expect ever increasing income, and a cheaper, better populace. Suddenly, such expectations become a problem, when it is the general populace which has them?

If the government cannot deliver, it should engage in self-examination, rather than blame the general populace for their expectations, especially when elsewhere in the MSM, such care has been taken to spread the news of state investments making money, government policies working effectively and of the general soundness of the economy.

Relax, people.

The Old Man is referring to the younger generation of elite leaders, those who are poised to take over the reins of their parents when the latter retire from their current positions.

After all, only this category of people have seen things consistently improving by leaps and bounds for their pleasure. The rest of us lesser mortals are on a roller-coaster ride of our own.

Vote sensibly. Your Last Chance to Squeak.

The old man is now faced between the devil and the deep blue sea situation. He knows that if he change all his useless and incompetent party in cabinet and replace them wih new blood, his party will definately collapse and his son would eventually be kick out of his PM seat. So he'll have to start all his craps to boo boo the people and confuse them, well at least to slow down the process of collapsing of his party and pray hard for miracle to happen. . . . wait long long then, expect more rediculous things to happen.

LKY seems to tell the world what to do! He goes round the world preaching about the word according to LKY.

Me think he thinks he is GOD! He tells you how to live what to eat where to eat how many children to have and when that does not work ous as it has not he does not say he is sorry but he now tells you to go have more children!

Then he tells you what language to speak how to speak it. I believe soon we all have to lear to speak arabic/ hindi/ maybe even afrikanas!

The world will be a betterplace when we stop telling singaporeans and the rest of the world how to live and run their own country. No one appointed you God's messenger, the last time I check.

When he is no more on this earth then we will see whether the world will heed what you have been saying all this while or they will tell you to take all your preaching with you wherever you may go.

Maybe there will be a place in heaven for you for all that you have done and if we dont find you there maybe you would have set up your own kingdom and you await the rest of your cronies and party memebers to join you there.

But please do stop telling us how to live our lives. Give us a chance to live by our own trials and tribulations that we have to go through by ourselves! Thank you for all that you have done for us but enough is enough !

Singapore has run into a big problem lately, LKY has overstayed his welcome.

Please just leave and make yourself scarce.

Instead of mentoring the younger PAP MPs and minister, LKY has a corrupting influence by setting a bad example of stubbornly clinging on to power.

The problem started when the GRC system was introduced. Today over 90% of the PAP MPs have not been tested and the absenteeism rate of MPs are a disgrace to Singapore's parliament.

We can't say much for our mediocre President whose challenger was deemed unfit.

Time to have a level playing field in politics so that Singapore can really have value-for-money MPs, ministers and President.

I thought the son told youngsters 'Dare to Dream'. Now the father says thats a problem.

What is really a problem is when you already have everything - the whole Spore and still want more from the people. The people have to make sacrifices in order for him to have more, better income, better surroundings, better everything. That to me is the real problem.
