RP on Cooling-Off Period

In Quotes • 592 views • 20 Comments

The Reform Party therefore strongly opposes the current government’s proposal for a cooling-off period. However this will only be one more of the numerous restrictions which tilt the playing field so far against the opposition and which prevent Singapore being classified as a democracy.

It’s not democracy when the prime minister sets out rules and regulations governing the conduct of elections in which he is a candidate.

The government has lost their confident of winning in the next election, so comes all these rubbish. It stupidity!! Even our election department is not independent, what more I have to say.

LKY has admitted the mistakes of our education system after 40 years which many “not- so- smart” people have been questioning. They dont need 40 years to realise it. There are many more mistakes they have made but quietly swiped under the carpet. Just look around you.

The world is watching !

What other rules and policies can technically be possible in future to be applied on us, free humans ? So exciting is it not? What a wonderful future awaits us.

possibilities after possibilities.

I am sure no one would be signing any petition or go to hong lim on this issue.
Technically, this is possible. The cooling off period is not today.
Practically, it is singaporeans we are talking about.

These changes should be announced by the Election Department and not the PM. It looks like the PM controls the Election Dept. Is this called democracy?

Ivan

Of course the PM Office controls the Election Dept. What we need is a truly independent Elections Commission or Comelec like they have in the Philippines. It is the job or commission of a truly independent Comelec to ensure that we have free and fair elections.

Maybe some day in the future (If PAP holds sway), only those who want to vote opposition need to go to the Polls. The rest all default PAP votes. They’d probably say it will save trees and they no need to print so many voting slips.

But of course, our own Comelec must not be corrupt! Or else, everything will be in vain!

The RP is right that they will be putting more obstacles up as the GE draws near. It was never about a fair fight and it will never be.

As for me, it doesn’t matter what the MIW do. I have made up my mind. I will vote for change. I want to be part of the group of courageous Singaporeans who ended the darkest period in our history. A period much worse than our forefathers had to bear under Japanese occupation.

I am prepared for the fact that the MIW will be going to throw money at us. I know they will take back 10 times more what they gave us, after the elections. Prices of about everything will go up except our salaries. Of course they will give themselves another 100% raise in their own wages.

I don’t want to live in fear and darkness anymore. I don’t want every facet of my life controlled by a political party. I don’t want to see Singapore’s sons dying on the battlefield so that foreigners can continue to suck us dry.

Enough is enough.

Time for change is now.

Prepare to adjust your life after the PAP win. All prices willgo up except salary. A last reminder to all brothers and sisters, if you want change, do it right in this coming election. If not, don’t complain again. You ask for it!

For a better Singapore we can be truly proud of

Everyone must play a part. If you cannot vote due to walkover, go and help oppos do door-to-door visits or distribute leaflets in their constituency. I hope every single seat constituency get rid of PAP.

I have faith in Miss Sylvia Lim, Chiam ST, Lim TK, Kenneth J and their teams to propel Spore to a REAL first world, not Mah BoTan, Lui Tuck Lew, Teo Ser Luck, Lim Swee Say, Lee Bee Hwa, Calvin Cheng, and lastly the Lee Hsien Loong and Ho Ching.

Its also about time all leaders and world democratic countries and watchdogs including the IBA to monitor closely and put pressure to stop all politicians from getting away with all sorts of corruptions and manipulation from their illegal power hold and stand firm to hold justice upon helpless innocent citizens around the world who are being forced to accept whatever they are being told to.

I am appalled by the changes introduced.
I am even more appalled that opposition in parliament would be effectiveless in stopping the changes.

I see that this election is gonna be very critical as the population continues to increase to even as rumored, natives may be the minority?

Its this time or never.

The Final Countdown.

I am preparing for the worst.
