  1. Haha, no no… terribly wrong! All leaders think their voters are idiotic, worthless and whiny little snots.

But Singapore is the only place in the world where the leader actually dare to mouth that without the slightest hint of self-consciousness or fear of any backlash.

Sometimes I don’t know whether to admire the leaders’ bold honesty or to weep at the voters’ infinite capacity to take such abuse!

    xcept leekuanyew..who else?
you vote for him or your mom/sis become worthless maids
you vote for his son or your kids become useless undergrads
you vote for his daughter or else your babies become retarded
even north korea kim is nowhere closed..@ the very least kim would sell you outdated kimichi vegetables…

  3. Clear eyed 29 December 2009

That’s precisely why Singapore, and Singaporeans, are unique. For once the clowns are right when they label us as such.

  4. I wouldn’t blame MM Lee if he can just shut up and stop his forecasting bullshit. I wouldn’t even acknowledge him as a “leader”. In my honest opinion, at the age he is at, he is making a fool of himself. He wouldn’t leave a good legacy behind him.

  5. unique tolerance 29 December 2009

In other words, Sporeans owe it all to the 66% and should thank them.

The tolerance for insults, ridicule, twisted logic, is examplary to the rest of the world.

Singapore should be voted as the ultimate place to govern !

That’s right ! Dumb or dumber gets paid many times more than any world leader.

  6. Get lost communist 29 December 2009

He knows how to keep us inline, fan our fears. I remembered about 20 years ago, my parents fear an opposition takeover and will die die vote him no matter what. Remembering my cousins telling me that if WP take over, I have to migrate.

fast forward 20 years, all the communist are in here, I really fear for my future.

  7. Hello ben,

Excuse me. You ungrateful, senile, bad mouth old man!

Without the hardworking, hard-driving true blue Singaporeans,
Singapore would not be what it is, today!.
It is through our grandparents and parents bloody sweat, that
helped build this country, OUR SINGAPORE!

    You owe us an apology!!

    from bad to worse…

  11. Political SalesMaN 29 December 2009

@sweeney 38, U must know in early Singapore the British has given “SABAH & SARAWAK & SINGAPORE” to combine to be Independent. Hoping that Singapore will survive with the combination. LEE KUAN U has havoc everything Sabah & Sarawak has been play out. Tengku Abdul Rahman has ever said another Fifty years Singapore will come back to Malaysia ! Till today LEE KUAN U dare not to step foot on this two Penninsular. Even our heritage “THE NATIONAL THREATRE” Whereever he saw this Building ,he has nightmare. So have to be tear down.

  12. I was just wondering…sometimes a man destroys his legacy before passing on the baton, just so he remains great in the history books. I honestly think he is still in control of his thoughts, not as senile as we like to think. He might just be bashing stuffs and leave a mess behind before he meets his creator. There are some type of people who will not leave behind what they built intact, for the next team of leaders to enjoy the fruits.

    Political Salesman

    Appreciate very much the insight.

LKY has a lot to answer for abusing his powers.
His creator awaits him on Judgement Day and shall be punished,,,,,,,,,
    …………send to hell.!!……
    for crimes committed against humanity!

  14. Bobby Tan 29 December 2009

Actually his greatness has been overblown…..I believe the PAP has been losing votes because of him…..his derogatory and contemptuous remarks of the very people who put him into power in 1959 and 1963….

He really is an ungrateful politician who deserves the mounting anger and hatred directetd at him….what a waste of the goodwill he garnered as a younger politician….

  15. Quote #6) Get lost communist:

“fast forward 20 years, all the communist are in here, I really fear for my future”

in continual to this statement, let us not forgot who try to drive the communist out in the past and who bring them in, in the present. Great leader my ass…

  16. Well, I think he know there is nothing good left for the Singaporean after he and his ministers had bleed dry the people in the next few years with their high pay.

So why he bother about leaving something good or bother about his legacy? It’s all about money my friend. Founding gold mine digger father!

  17. Well, the one aspect in which people and animals differ is ideals. Human beings can hardly rise above being animal-like if idealistic ones are batted down as “hiflalutin”.

  18. Anonymous 30 December 2009

Well, the comments are expected from a person who controls virtually everything in the nation. Dig deeper and you will find either him or his family member is in the board of directors to everything; power, water, communication, media, transportation and etc. He virtually controls everything, like an emperor who is not afraid of any repercussions.

On top of all that, why are Singaporeeans being made to pay a salary to someone who only forecast, a position that Singaporeans did not even agreed on? It is to my knowledge that government is made to SERVE THE PEOPLE and not the other way around? Have hell freezes over that we too daft to think straight?

  19. Singaporeans can only blame Themselves for being gullible and get bought into ‘bogey-men’ stories spun by PAP. It’s about time they used their brains again to THINK for their future. If we don’t collectively vote in Opposition, we will suffer more. It is Time to Act but how many of our friends and relatives who continually vote for PAP realise? Have we done our duty to save this country by enlightening them on all the wrong policies that have been carried out?

When will the electorate wake up to this abuse of their dignity by the very people who are supposed to be in office to SERVE them?

This is the question (amongst many others) we must ask those who voted for PAP.

  20. Sylvester Lim 30 December 2009

Thanks to our ‘esteemed Father’ LKY, many Singaporeans have Learned Helplessness. After a while, it comes second nature to the Singaporean’s personality.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Learned_helplessness
Learned helplessness, as a technical term in animal psychology and related human psychology, means a condition of a human being or an animal in which it has learned to behave helplessly, even when the opportunity is restored for it to help itself by avoiding an unpleasant or harmful circumstance to which it has been subjected.

  21. dat sure 30 December 2009

all the ministers and even the PRIME MINISTER are appointed.

  22. Dear LKY

I challenge you to let Singaporean vote their own prime minister, president etc, and most of all take away the GRC and open up all the walkover for election. Let see us see if you are right Singaporean are really that useless?

If not, just shut-up enjoy your high fat pay (while you still can breath), till you meet your maker and given a final judgment. Right, I forgot that you don’t even believe there is a higher power above because you think you are the GOD. Try spelling it the other way round, DOG. Greedy old man.

  23. Keratus Sonatar 30 December 2009

Ben is like a citizen we never had.
    What a contribution by him.
    Kudos!

  24. Isn’t this the guy who lost his EP recently? I’m sure I read of him somewhere.

  25. tiredsingaporean 30 December 2009

All the while we thought those past corrupted leaders like suharto, marcos and thaksin etc . . were so bad enough but compared to ours, they are no where near, the difference is their people’s livelihood are still being taken care while they make their millions, while ours here more tax hikes are being forced down our throats when many are still struggling to stay afloat. Come to thnk about it, all these may be done intentionally to force those citizens who cannot afford to live here to get out of their sight as they already have plans to replace you with the new FT citizens, don’t you think so, guys?

  26. what a crap site… the comments are obviously one sided and of course conveniently avoid the fact that Singapore today is one of the best places to earn a living around the world.

not to mention the clean streets, safe environment and achievements of Singapore in a lot of fields overseas (except sports, we ARE rather embarassing when it comes to sports)

superb education and high literacy in the population BUT obviously wasted on the other commentors as they have allowed their one sided views to post such ludicrous comments blasting LKY

i think the PAP is cool and have done a tremendous job managing singapore throughout our short existence… anyone who thinks they could have stepped up to the plate and done a better job is probably kidding themselves and their overinflated ego.

    WTF

  27. Anon

it depends whether you stand at the bottom of the mountain or the peak of it to view the issue. But in your case, my best guess would be outer space like our country very so call elities.

There is a simple reason why TOC is growing in number by the day, and it would be the tip of an ice berg if you take off those that have no access to the Internet be it cannot afford or do not know how. Yah right, high literacy! And yet our English and Chinese is best mocked by the world (jack of all trade and good in non).

If you cannot stand the heat in TOC, why bother even to come in and read at our comment? Go to the PAP site would best suit your taste.

  28. Anon you mentioned sport but yet you do not mention the fact that we are buying gold medal with tax payer money. And for what? May I ask on behalf of people who want to know? Economy strategy? For foolish people who will say, under the ruling of PAP, we achieved this we achieve that.

At who’s cost? Are you even surprise some of channel 8 show that indicate that their family is so poor that they owe HDB $9000 in payment and don’t know what they gonna do the next day? Please don’t be a ass hole, you piss people off with your ignorance.

  29. Don’t just use your eyes to see what is in front of you. You still have other senses and most importantly brain to analyse issue. Till you use your brain Anon, you might begin to understand what is actually going on.

Singapore is like the whole world looking at the environment issue. Glorify our advancement and choose not to see what we are doing to the nature. Anon, if you are a descent human being, look at the “environmental” side of Singapore. Not the advancement. Because we smart people know it is a matter of time, things gonna catch up with us. And if it does, god bless everyone in Singapore.

  30. Finally, if you are a high earner person (assuming you are Singaporean). Good for you (I am one myself). You better don’t be too comfy, Anon. My advise is to buy more insurance in case you met a freak accident like the one at the Bukit Panjang. If not, I am very sure your social security net is not wide enough to cover you especially you lost your capacity to earn.

Yes medisave, do you know there is a cap? And it will not be the injury that kill you, your bills will drown you first and you might ended up in one of the channel 8 help the family show yourself if your wife depends on you (assume you have one). PAP like people who can contribute to their high pay, those that can’t will probably left to rot by itself. And after you die, take your organ that are useful to someone. Maybe one of our ministers or even MM. Which I believe you should be proud of the outcome.
