Aiya….where you want these FT (Foreign Tenants….!!!!) to stay at if we need them here to do jobs that Singaporeans dun wan !!!! Better to have a proper place for them to stay than letting them live all over Singapore !!!!
But the Govt shud open such dormitories in more industrialised areas, like Jurong, Kaki Bukit…..dun ustand why chose SG as the 1st private estate !!!
But hope this group of FTs will behave and show Singaporeans, esp SG residents that they are not what we see or preceived them to be….

In the 2006 GE, Serangoon Garden which is a pro-PAP ward within Marine Parade GRC was switched with Bradell Heights so that SG’s votes would dilute the expected increased opposition votes in Aljunied GRC. PAP calculated correctly. Without SG’s votes Aljunied GRC would have been lost to WP. Some years back, Bradell Heights was almost lost to SDP under Chiam’s leadership.

Would SG be moved back to Marine Parade GRC in the next GE? I think so. It would prevent the opposition party from exploiting the dormitory situation.

If the PAP is brave to find out the true feelings of the residents, SG should be turned into a SMC in the next GE.

i was initially put off when i read about the serangoon gardens residents reaction towards the fw. but thinking about it now.. was the media depiction of the residents accurate? the ministers tried to calm the residents, but what if our millionaire ministers are the ones staying at serangoon gardens?
