  4. Now, how will Singapore get the Diplomat back into the country for trial? I certainly hope SPF will not just turn a blind eye just because he’s a diplomat. He’s as much as a criminal like Mas Selemat, they better don’t say “it’s an honest mistake” that he escaped or that he’s not under jurisdiction and let him off scott free.

    newspaper say law cannot bring a diplomat to justice.

    any lawyer here can advise?

    does this means if i am a diplomat, even if i murder other country people i can still get off without punishment?

    A Russian diplomat accredited to Ottawa, Canada drove his car into two pedestrians on a quiet residential street in January 2001, killing one and seriously injuring the other. Andrei Knyazev had previously been stopped by Ottawa police on two separate occasions on suspicion of impaired driving. The Canadian government requested that Russia waive the diplomat’s immunity, although this request was refused. Knyazev was subsequently prosecuted in Russia for involuntary manslaughter, and sentenced to four years in prison. His appeal of the sentence was denied and he served time in a penal colony.

    host country?
    Will the diplomat still enjoy this so-called ………… diplomatic ammunity ?

  11. how can the diplomat be a suspect now to the police when in the early stage, the police confirmed a loss report was made an hour before the accident happened? it doesnt makes sense at all.
