Top 10 logos emerging from the first stage poll

Despite a week of DDoS attacks on The Online Citizen (TOC), the TOC Community has persisted in its support. What that does not kill us only makes us stronger.

35 unique logos, each representing the respective logo designer’s conception and perception of the TOC Community, were submitted. A total of 302 votes were casted to pick the logo that best represents TOC.

The top 10 logos from the first stage poll are shown above. The top 3 logos are now put up for a second-cum-final stage of polling. The most popular logo will become TOC’s logo. Voting ends on 2300, 27 Jan 2010

  1. it’s simple but great!

  2. would be nice if you can get the creators of the respective logo to briefly describe their logos. e.g what the talking faces are meant to represent, or the text bubble signifies.etc.

Frankly, I have no idea what is the ‘idea’ behind logo2. What the visuals the text is supposed to represent? Is it a person holding both his hands up high?

No. 7 reminds me too much of mediacorp for some reason :(

Hi Hum #4, does that mean you like no. 6 in the top 10 logos?

  5. Hi Donaldson,
Sorry for the late reponse. There has been a lot of DDOS on this site and i have not been able to read your reply.

Yes, #6 is meaningful to me. Singapreans are Apathetic and this is quite Irrefutably accepted as the truth by many. We need people to wake up their ideas and stand together. Strength in numbers. This is the way to change Singapore. As we are more convinced by now, many talents exist to form a new gonmin. The problem is most of this lot consciously made the decision to Deny Opposition a vote, stagnating its growth to have stronger voice to represent the 33.3%. This has been going on for half a CENTURY, non-stop.

No one in the public seems to know :
    1. what exactly are the total losses incurred in last 20 years.
    2. what is the construction cost for ANY, yes any flat unit, regardsless of time.
    3. bills can get passed without a problem technically speaking.
    4. Apathy of the citizenry.

All these are just a sample of the problems of the singaporean mentality. While its nice to TRUST, we need to be realistic and ask ourselves these technical questions.

The problems lie fundamentally with the people’s lack of certain wisdom.
Self interest can at many times be in conflict of interest with interest of the society.
