I passed by Boon Lay Ave a few occasions and noticed that Block 216-220 is still intact. The former residents were told to move out due to an “en bloc” development in the estate.
Today, I passed by once again and saw this interesting banners. It seem that HDB does not want to associate itself to the Boon Lay Ave Blk 216-220. I can see that the banner with the wording “HDB” been “Blanko”. I think the managing LHN Group Residential was told to “blanko” the wording “HDB”. After these estate had alrady been “En Bloc”ed. It had nothing to do with HDB.

Taman Jurong might be next. Some flats there are really old and vacant.
Why is HDB selling such flats to LNG group to manage and these company collect rents from Singaporeans and Foreigners? $1300-1800? Who is LNG group anyway? Why are they allowed to profit from PUBLIC HOUSING from tax payer?
i mean LHN Group.
They did some refurbishing to a few blocks of flats at Tanglin Halt last year. I think these have been rented out to FWs too. This is not a bad idea actually, so that FWs don’t become a nuisance to other HDB dwellers. This move can also check the rentals of HDB flats so that those with no real need will not buy them for rental income, thus reigning in the resale prices. Don’t begrude them. HDB could have done this a long time ago.
//senior citizen
yeah right? this is only necessary if they don’t intend to let prs become citizen quickly.
else how can rental be better than putting monies in a hdb flat and receive subsidy for the purchase as well?
The wave of free citizenship has not slow down.
On another note, I did the following calculation.
if you take a loan of 348000 to buy a 400K HDB flat at 2.6% interest, (400K includes COV), you would only be getting:
21K if the price of the flat rises to 512K in 10 years.
46K if the price of the flat rises to 538K in 10 years. (34% increase over 10 years)
101K if the price of the flat rises to 592K in 10 years.
160K if the price of the flat rises to 651.5K in 10 years.
Do you think you can expect the same % increase over the next 10 years?
senior citizen is clearly not in the right frame of mind.
you do not force flat-”owners” (ah, but we all know we’re only lessers) out of their homes just so that foreigners get a cheap place to stay so that they will not be nuisance to other people.
that is twisted logic.
would you give up your seat in MRT to the friends of a bully so that the friends will not bother you on the train?
HDB did not dare to do this long ago again PAP was not sure of its “mandate”. But having pushed the people repeatedly into accepting ridiculous polices e.g. $$$$$$ pay raise for themselves and losing $$$$$$ of our reserves, HDB gets more blazen.
