Right now because of heavy-handed  censorship, the gay community has little recourse to fight back. We can't even be portrayed in the media in a positive light - let alone defend ourselves from the idiocy and fear mongering that's being served up as fact. On top of that, as this situation has shown (with Rony citing 377A), the refusal of the government to repeal section 377A gives homophobes licence to claim that their extreme-homophobic views are mainstream - when we all know they are not. Very likely, both sides wanting to take down each other freedom of speech. Presently,the PAP is trying hard to be on the middle ground, doing a balancing act on social issues hoping that it pleases both the liberals and the conservatives. George,our society is not gagging any healthy/unhealthy info on gay lifestyles in Singapore.We can  easily access to all these infos via internet.Correct me if i am wrong.I do not recall anyone in the gay community being convicted of anal sex by our courts.The only reason why our secular government still has not abolished the s377A is because by doing so it may open up a can of worms and also,Singapore populace at large is still occupied  by Thionians and Ronyians.Unless the PAP wants to have a self-inflict political suicide,the Act will stay intact.By the way,please tell us which country do you think is most suitable for our society to model after?
