Al Jazeera reports on the homelessness issue in Singapore.
Singapore is a nation of homeowners, largely thanks to a comprehensive system of government subsidised housing.
But despite the system’s overall success, the strict rules also mean that some people fall through the cracks.
For example, anyone selling their government subsidised house is not allowed to rent one within 30 months. That policy has had unexpected repercussions for divorcees, as Laura Kyle reports.

I can’t understand why is it that the foreign press enjoys making a mountain out of a molehill. Can one truly believe that there will be zero poverty and homeless people in Singapore? Come people! Wake up! For the couple living in a tent, there is more than just losing their flats. Surely we need to consider these factors as well before we make any judgement on the government or the people. This is irresponsible reporting by the Al-Jazeera TV. You are really splitting hairs without ascertaining the credibiity of the source of the story. You have merely twisted the content to suit your approach. Surely there is a more responsible way to present this information?
