Press release from The Reform Party:

The Women’s Wing of the Reform Party takes great pleasure in announcing that it will be holding a Gala Film Screening Evening on the 27th November 2010.  The event will be held at the Sinema Old School (www.sinema.sg/about/gettingthere), 11B Mount Sophia from 6pm to 8pm.

Directed by Mirabelle Ang, “Match Made”, follows at a surface level the story of a Singaporean man who chooses, woos and marries a Vietnamese girl in one week, using a local matchmaking agency. The underlying issue raised is that of the care of elderly dependants for families with no FDW.  Does this end up by being a real love story? You may be surprised.  Filmmaker Mirabelle Ang’s interest in social, cultural and political affairs has led her to work in documentaries that explore the cities she resides in. Born and raised in Singapore, her documentary, Match Made, has screened at festivals and museums such as the Viennale, Cinéma du Réel, Mar del Plata, Full Frame and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

There are three tiers of tickets available.
