I thought one would frequently heard of new PAP politicans when asked why they chose to go into politics, is that they invariably answered that ‘oh i have benefited from the system, thats why now i am willing to give back (‘with not much lost of high pay’); or another would say ‘ oh, i came from such and such a poor background or suhc an such a situation, we I am willing to come in to speak for them , blah blah blah.’

So looks like they dont come in to graciously or humbly or benevolently wholeheartedly serve fellow Singaporeans. Do they ?

Moving ahead towards a ‘first class living environment’ (see budget 2007 website)… but leaving the dialysis patients to fend for themselves (pay or die)…. How unkind…

Gov gives (without means testing) a 65- 80% inpatient subsidy, (http://www.moh.gov.sg/corp/about/newsroom/pressreleases/details.do?id=42500097 )65% day surgery subsidy and 50% specialist out patient clinic subsidy… so why cannot dialysis treatment costs be govt subsidized?..(Cost of dialysis: http://www.nkfs.org/subsidies.php ).

Are some Singaporeans more human then others? Why the differences in subsidies for equally life sustaining treatments?

What gives these high caliber PAP ministers the right to deprive Singaporeans of important life sustaining treatments? What are the reasons for some treatments not to be subsidized? Is the high kidney failure rate due primarily to poor primary healthcare provision and accessibility? After all: Singapore has worst patient-doctor ratio amongst developed countries: http://sg.news.yahoo.com/070221/1/46tr4.html , so whose fault is it that they developed kidney failure: the patient or the gov? Whatever it is… these people die without treatment.
