因武汉冠状病毒肆虐全球,也引发一些种族主义群体把疫情迁怒到“黄种人”头上,一名在伦敦留学的新加坡学生遭到攻击,在社交媒体上贴文找寻目击者。 已在伦敦留学两年,署名乔诺登·莫(Jonathan Mok译音)的网民于周二(3月3日)贴文,分享自己倒霉遭遇,更附上自己遭到攻击后,左眼红肿的照片。 他指出自己于2月24日晚上9时15分,在伦敦牛津街被一群青少年袭击。 他说,在经过那群青少年时,听到有一人喊道“冠状病毒”,于是转头去看他,却被对方喊道“你竟敢瞪我!你……”,就开始不断挥拳打他。 当时的路人见状,纷纷尝试停止他们的围殴。 他指出,除了发言者,他的另外数名朋友也参与攻击队伍内,有一人在殴打他之前还喊道“我不要你的冠状病毒进来我的国家”。 该群青少年最后在警方抵步之前,逃跑了。 “种族主义者找借口散播仇恨” 乔诺登指出,他到医院急诊室就医时,被告知脸上有骨折,可能需要接受手术才能复原一些部分。 对于所面对的惨痛遭遇,他不禁问道,“为何要因肤色而遭受他人的言语或肢体虐待?为什么有人对我发表种族主义言论攻击时,我要保持沉默?” “种族主义不是无知,而是仇恨。他们会不断寻找借口来散播他们的仇恨,而在冠状病毒疫情爆发的现在,又成为了他们的另一个借口。” 他呼吁目击者站出来,向警方提供证据,并希望有录下视频的目击者,可以将视频转发给他。 他的贴文已经获得超过4000人留言评论,以及逾万人分享。网民纷纷对他的遭遇表示同情,希望他早日康复,并为他的正面思想给予赞扬。 我国驻英使馆联系当事者 另一方面,交通部兼文化、社区及青年部高级政务次长马炎庆指出,在获悉有关事件后,立刻于今早在国会中,向外交部长维文医生求证,后者表示新加坡驻伦敦大使馆已经设法联系受害人。 马炎庆表示,他相信伦敦警方会根据当地法律来处理,并相信当局会做出适当的决定。 他呼吁在外的国人要提高警惕,而且要注意个人卫生,在公共场所也要负起个人责任,不要让他人有理由或借口采取问责等行动。
昨日(2日),印尼总统佐科维亲自证实,该国出现首两起武汉冠状病毒(COVID-19)确诊病例。 根据《雅加达邮报》报导,两名当地人,64岁和31岁的印尼母女,曾与一名日本游客有近接触,该名日籍人士到过印尼,在上月27日,在马来西亚确诊。 此消息也引起当地民众恐慌,印尼出现抢购潮,一些超市甚至出现粮食、肉类、米等全被扫清的现象,十分夸张。 当地人拍摄民众在超市排队等候结账,购物车上满满都是各种食粮或日用品。 上月,贸工部长陈振声出席一项闭门会议,当时他曾揶揄一小撮新加坡人,在政府提升警戒级别后,就到超市疯抢日用品囤货、抢购口罩的行为“下衰”,认为这是“白痴”(idiots)行径。 陈振声更直言:“每个人都可以表现得像白痴,但是新加坡人不可以。” 事实上,疫情当下出现抢购潮,不仅曾发生在我国,其他也传出疫情的先进国如韩国、日本、意大利,也出现有民众扫货囤积粮食的现象。
马国新任首相丹斯理慕尤丁承诺将会挑选干净、廉洁且有素质的人来组成内阁。 马来西亚在历经上周的政坛风暴后,于周日确定由慕尤丁出任第八任首相。而昨日(2日)在他第一天上班后,首度发表谈话,称目前首要工作即是提升政府的廉洁度,与良好的处理政府事务,包括增强打击贪污滥权的执法力度以及审视相关法令。 “我明白人民想要的是一个干净、清廉且零贪污的政府,我承诺我将会从干净、廉洁且有素质的人当中挑选我的内阁成员。” 慕尤丁说,人民是想要一个能够为人民解决问题的政府。而目前人民最关注的即是生活上的开销、有品质且可负担的医疗服务以及教育制度,同时也是他最关注的问题。 近来疫情肆虐,他呼吁人民照顾卫生,同时向人民保证,对有品质及成本合理的卫生服务保持重视。 此外,他曾担任教育部长长达6年的经验,因此慕尤丁也向人民保证,将致力于提升马国教育水平,确保儿童获得的教育水准能与先进国旗鼓相当。 他强调,如今在他的领导下相信马来西亚能够继续落实2030年共享繁荣的愿景,降低社会中的贫富差距与致力于发展国家经济。 慕尤丁呼吁人民给予他支持,让他肩负这个重大的委托与责任。 “给我机会,用我在政治及政府的40年经验,领导马来西亚走向辉煌。我要为国家献出我的精神及身躯。” “给我一些时间制定政府及国家的主要方向,上苍保佑,我会在近期内向人民解释关于新的施政。”

内政部长兼律政部长尚穆根在国会拨款委员会辩论内政部开支预算时,以香港为例,解释为何新加坡对于示威活动要有严格要求。他认为如今传媒在谈论示威活动时,往往只会关注警方的过度暴力,尤其是国际媒体。 针对包括香港在内的世界多地过去一年都暴发示威,政府国会内政及律政委员会主席荷兰—武吉知马集选区迪舒沙,以及宏茂桥集选区颜添宝等议员提问,我国内政团队从中吸取哪些经验,是否有能力避免类似骚乱? 尚穆根回应说,维护治安不只是执法人员的责任,社会若是没治理好,内政团队也不能发挥作用。“你可以拥有世界上最好的警队,但除非你把其他方面也顾好,否则你仍然无法应对骚乱”,他表示。 “全世界都会发生骚乱,如智力、欧洲、香港等地方,街头抗议已然升级为暴力,扰乱了普通公民的生活,并破坏公共与私人设施。黎巴嫩也曾因数个月的骚乱而造成严重的损失。正如我提到的圣地亚哥,示威者因公共交通票价上涨被激怒,因而开始抢劫商店、放火烧车和物业。” 随后,他以香港日前示威为例表示,示威者当中他们犯下极端暴力与破坏性的行为,其目的就是为了使政府瘫痪,严重损害经济与城市的声誉。同时,也挑衅了警方。 对此,尚穆根也给予香港警方称赞,能够与新加坡并列优秀警察部队。 尚穆根:香港暴力示威因媒体的报道出现偏颇 针对香港的暴力示威,尚穆根称,“我想说,这已然严重损害警方与公众的关系。” 然而,尚穆根批评,其缘由均因媒体的报道出现偏颇,才会让人误以为警方是暴力一方,而忽略整个暴力行为的过程。他更指向当时颇受关注的示威者被真枪击倒一案,媒体忽略整件事的脉络,从而引领观众对警方出现偏见。 “媒体,尤其是国际媒体对局势的片面之词,并无助于平息示威。示威者总被冠以守护民主的称号,而警方却成为他们的对立面,同时反复提及警方过度暴力与残暴的行为。当警方那个第一次向示威者开枪时,媒体却将警方刻画称“暴力”的印象,并在世界各地大肆报道。” “然而,这件事本身的缘由却被忽略了,正如我所说,示威者经常被描绘成为正义的一方,而警方则却在暗地里被攻击,从而使警方的生命与家人处于危险和被曝光当中,但显然,这些事情却被掩盖了。” 对于香港警方,他们为了能够更好保护自己的家人与亲人,不得已而抵抗示威者。 尚穆根:“不应该让少数心怀不满的人的行为影响大多数人在社会生活的权利。” 此外,尚穆根认为“不应该让少数心怀不满的人的行为影响大多数人在社会生活的权利。” 根据《公共秩序法》,在未经警察许可下,任何组织与公共集会均属犯罪,而尚穆根也说明,若新加坡人想要发声也可以选择到芳林公园的演说者之角(the Speakers’ Corner),则无需经过许可。 他接着说,“我们曾因不允许在芳林公园之外举行集会而受到批评,即使是一个人,但我们又该如何画出界限,是一个、两个、三个、五十、一百、两百还是五千?到底多少示威者均算可接受?如何评判和平集会?或是升级为暴力?” 再回到香港抗议一事,他声称香港当时也允许抗议活动,但随后在演变成暴力示威时,尽管香港警方可以介入,但他们又该如何处理这些故意制造暴力的示威者? “这也造成警方在抗暴的失败,让公众误以为警方毫无作用,所以在特定的地方进行抗议,是为了能够在双方取得平衡。因此我认为我们的方法是凑效的,对于规定只能在某个地方进行抗议,这样在发生暴乱时警方仍能应对。” 尽管如此,尚穆根仍认为处理示威不仅仅只能制定严格的规定,也同时要大众的认同,而该制度是为了帮助大多数人而生,方能让公众对此信赖。 “如果这至关重要的制度只是为了少数人受益,那从根本上、社会经济与利益上,本就不公平,因为以牺牲大多数人的利益换取少数人受益,那么只会让他们抗议,他们为何要支持一个本就不站在公平立场的制度上?” 对此,他表示,良善的社会经济与政治结构是任何政府必须提供给公众,也因此才能让警方在各方的支持下,让他们去对付少数违法的示威者。
有官司在身导致资产遭冻结,再碰上武汉冠状病毒(Covid-19)疫情爆发,本地餐饮集团Ministry of Food(MOF)总裁被迫在本周末,将旗下的五家分行关门大吉。 MOF总裁沈志慧于2017年购下韩国连锁餐馆时,答应支付550万元,却只支付了70万元。 全盛时期的MOF曾经拥有岛上80间餐馆,但是在2017年购入韩国连锁店后,经济似乎出现了状况。 韩国餐馆的股东和合伙人当时就发现沈志慧有企图分散资产的行动,即准备售卖所居住的洋房,更将20间公司过户给她的文盲老母亲,因此决定入禀法庭。 他们除了起诉沈志慧无法缴交全数交易额,也指出对方有分散资产之嫌,申请冻结她的资产。法庭于上个月初下令,依据全球资产禁止令,冻结沈志慧高达480万元的资产。 目前MOF旗下只有约26间餐馆,其中有五家餐馆将于本周末结业。 针对此事,沈志慧表示自资产被冻结后,有可能无法在周一筹足给店主的资金,“店主表示害怕资产禁制令,因此会收回店面”。 她指出,除了无法缴交店租和商品费用,更担心影响了约400名员工的生计。 随着冠状病毒爆发,她的餐馆生意就面临打击,其中八间餐馆的生意甚至下跌至90巴仙,全集团表现下跌了35巴仙。 在询及将部分资产转入老母亲名下一事时,沈志慧表示,她是在生意不景气时,咨询了风水师后,根据对方的建议行事,没想过分散资产一事。
