推动性少数权益、废除377A的一名自愿者,申诉在会见居民活动,欲向义顺集选区议员李美花提呈请愿书时,却遭后者冷待。 有关名为符宝健(译音)的志愿者,在本周一出席义顺集选区议员李美花的会见活动,想征询议员对性少数权益和废除377A的意见。 同时,符宝健也准备提交一份,有859名该区居民签名,支持废除377A条文的请愿书。 符宝健当晚和三名友人一同出席。轮到他们一行人时,李美花在和众人握手后,首先询问他们之间的关系,其中一人说不是来自义顺选区,但为了同一课题而来。 提交859居民签署的请愿书 不过,李美花要那名非选区居民离开,至于符宝健的另两位义顺同伴,也被要求离开,并再另拿号码排队。 符宝健说,议员称“她知道这是什么情况”,因为“其他议员也遇过”。 “等到我的三名友人离开后,李美花才叫我说出来意。我就告诉她,想了解他对于377A课题的看法。” 符宝健称,李美花听后,只留下一句:“我还有其他居民面对真正的问题”,就离开房间。只留下符宝健一人,被冷待了15分钟。 他说,写信志工有来到房间,但一直避开和他接触,而是与其他居民交谈。最终符宝健告诉他,即便不想和他对话,也好让他转交请愿书给议员。 即便如此,职工也只是挥挥手,请他交给另一名志工。 “感到议员拒绝对话” 符宝健在接受《今报》的采访时,也指出Ready4Repeal运动准备动员志工,在各自的选区找议员商谈,并呈交请愿书,呼吁议员将有关性少数议题带到国会讨论。 然而,符宝健感到李美花在这课题上,拒绝与他对话。 李美花澄清未离开房间 针对符宝健的言论,李美花则向《今报》澄清,自己并没有离开房间,只是转移到其他桌位见其他居民。 在行动党义顺南支部的脸书,也出现简短的澄清声明: 我们理解一名人士针对昨晚会见居民活动的网络贴文。 我们在此澄清有关两位人士都是本选区居民,和其他居民一样,都有得到写信志工接待。该男性居民表示无需为他写诉求信,但我们的志工则替另一女居民写信。 李美花议员有和他们简短对话,之后就处理其他居民的事务。 然而,有关澄清并未直接回应和釐清,有关符宝健指遭李美花冷待的问题。 江伟贤:议员应聆听居民对政策法律的看法 新加坡民主党政治人物江伟贤,对符宝健的遭遇感到不平,直言任何居民如果对于国家政策或法令有意见,都理应被给予机会,向议员申诉和讨论。或者,议员要怎样去代表居民的意见发声? 他也指出,许多人找议员来帮忙写信申诉以免除罚款、申请公民身份等等,然而,这些上诉信,可以交给议员团队的志工帮忙,但是,要探讨废除377A条文,只有民选代议士,才有在国会投票表决、立法的权限。 他说,诸如写信给陆路交通局、建屋局等等机构上诉,也是自己完成的,不一定要找议员。 “然而,我们选出议员,是为了让他在国会为民请命,而不是围着他打转。”
印尼驻新加坡大使苏瓦查亚(Ngurah Swajaya)指出,住在新加坡的印尼人有约18万人,截至去年12月,新加坡雇用了25万名外籍女佣,而印尼则是主要来源国之一。 苏瓦查亚接受《联合早报》的《大使新任务》专栏采访,指出指责除了保障在新工作的印尼客工权益,也专注“保障以外”(beyond protection)的事项,即提升印尼客工的人力才能。 56岁的苏瓦查亚来自巴厘岛,主修国际法律,是在2016年出任印尼驻新大使,他说,过去两年其同胞在新工作的权益和福利,是他一直重视的领域。 他说, 印尼自1969年,就在本地开设“新加坡印尼学校”(Sekolah Indonesia Singapura)。目前校舍设在实乞纳路,多年来学校一直未印尼籍客工,提供各种培训课程。 在大使苏瓦查亚的推动下,课程种类也与时并进,开始推出顺应数码时代需求的电脑编程课程,还有时下流行的咖啡师培训课。 校内设有开放式大学,让客工能远程学习,考取文凭以提升学历。苏瓦查亚透露,目前已有900人报名,有者已毕业,考得学士、研究生等资历。有者后来也当上了大学教授。 苏瓦查亚称,大使馆是听取了客工的反馈,开办新课程,针对他们的兴趣,寻找好导师。“一些客工上课回国后,甚至当了老板,我们希望继续见证这样的成功故事。” 他指出,大使馆也会透过社交媒体发布通告,客工可以向他们的雇主出示大使馆的公告,以兹证明。 苏瓦查亚本身也是重机车爱好者,也积极透过参与重机车慈善骑行活动募捐赈灾。 根据《联合早报》整理数据显示,前年共有289万印尼人到访新加坡,前往印尼的新加坡访客,则有147万人。
