A Latin American restaurant at 313@Somerset in Singapore was vandalised in the early hours of 27 April, according to CCTV footage posted by Chimi’s SG on Instagram.
The restaurant said the incident occurred at around 4.20 am when the outlet was closed.
The footage has since circulated online, drawing widespread attention and public reaction.
Chimi’s SG said the group damaged property inside the premises before leaving shortly after.
Restaurant says group damaged property during closure
In an Instagram statement posted on 27 April, Chimi’s SG said the outlet had been operating for four years and described the incident as distressing for its staff.
The restaurant said the group entered the space while it was closed and began damaging property, including smashing a chair and breaking blinds.
Footage shows individuals inside and outside premises
Based on CCTV footage shared by the restaurant, a group of four individuals was seen outside the outlet before one entered the enclosed seating area.
The footage shows chairs and tables neatly arranged while blinds were pulled down.
At one point, one individual is seen sitting inside the restaurant before the situation escalates.
Chair thrown during incident
The CCTV clip shows a chair being thrown forcefully onto the ground while loud shouting is heard.
According to the footage, individuals were seen shouting and moving furniture aggressively before leaving the scene around 4.31 am.
It has not been confirmed whether the matter has been reported to the police.
Public reaction online
The video, which was also reshared on 'sgfollowsall' Instagram page, quickly gained traction online, with users sharing a range of reactions in the comment section.
Some questioned the absence of security personnel, while others called for police action against those involved.



Others called for stronger penalties, with comments such as “Caning pls” and “Caning and heavy fine.”


Some also expressed concern about rising aggression in society, while others urged the restaurant to lodge a police report and rely on CCTV evidence.
