SINGAPORE: A 33-year-old Malaysian man was arrested after allegedly slapping several people inside a church along Prinsep Street on 3 May 2026.
Police said they received a call for assistance at around 9.10am at Singapore Life Church.
When officers arrived, the man had already left the premises.
A 66-year-old woman was among those assaulted. She was slapped near her eyes, resulting in bleeding.
She was taken conscious to hospital for treatment.
According to police, multiple individuals were struck during the incident inside the church.
Despite the disturbance, church services on the same day were not affected.
Authorities confirmed that activities continued as scheduled following the incident.
Police later identified the suspect as a 33-year-old Malaysian Chinese man.
He was subsequently arrested for public nuisance after investigations were carried out.
Preliminary findings indicate that the man was known to the church community.
He had allegedly caused disturbances there on previous occasions.
Police said investigations into the incident are ongoing.
